I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Absolute Athens Apartments, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a 4-star apartment setup in the heart of Greece’s chaotic capital. But after spending time there (and coming back twice since), I can tell you this place absolutely nails what modern travelers actually want. The 9.4 rating isn’t just some inflated number – it’s earned through those little details that make you feel like you’ve got your own slice of Athens rather than just another hotel room.

What really got me was how these apartments manage to feel both authentically Greek and completely functional for someone who needs to actually live there for a few days. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show – I mean, you can actually cook a proper meal, which is huge when you’re tired of taverna food (as much as I love it). The spaces have this lived-in quality without feeling worn down, if that makes sense. You know what I’m talking about – that sweet spot between sterile hotel perfection and someone’s messy apartment. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the units, which honestly surprised me given how thick some of these old Athenian walls can be. And the air conditioning? Thank god it’s powerful enough to handle those brutal July afternoons when the city turns into an oven.

The location thing is interesting because it’s not right in the tourist madness of Plaka or Monastiraki, but you’re still close enough that a 15-minute walk gets you to the good stuff. I actually prefer this – you get to see how actual Athenians live, grab coffee at neighborhood spots where they don’t automatically switch to English, and the evenings are quieter when you need to decompress from all that marble and history. There’s a little bakery around the corner that opens ridiculously early (like 6 AM early) and the smell of fresh bread sort of drifts up – it’s one of those accidental perks that nobody mentions in the official descriptions. The staff here gets it too; they’re not hovering but they’re genuinely helpful when you need recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist traps. Check-in was smooth, even when I arrived late one evening after a delayed flight, and they actually remembered my name the next morning.

  The host welcomed us with bottles of water, fruits, & cookies. The building has an elevator & walking distance from the Acropolis, Plaka, & bars/restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: The tours offered was expensive for simply a taxi to drive us to the site & the driver hardly had any commentaries of the places we pass by or sites.

  Lovely apartment in an area just down from the Acropolis( 15 minutes walk up steep gradient to get near the base). Local restaurants and a few bars only 5-10 mins(flat walk away) all good food and not over priced. Also small food shops for essentials. Very nice bakery two corners up !

  They had fruits, cookies, water, and wine upon our afternoon arrival- what a treat! Apartment is spacious, clean- all the kitchen gadgets and a washing machine. A little noisy at night, but that didn’t bother us. Highly recommend this place.

  Nice apartment (actually felt like someone's home) with a nice kitchen and a real clothes washer, GREAT hosts (Rodoula and Giannis were awesome), ten-minute walk to Acropolis and to subway station, located in a genuine non-touristy neighborhood with lots of bars, restaurants, cafes (check out Bugatsa Bay for great bugatsa!), two supermarkets, and a farmer's market a few streets away on Fridays.

  Lovely apartment in a great location. The host met us on our arrival and left a selection of fresh fruit, local pastries and preserves, which was very kind. The apartment was very comfortable, with great beds, two bathrooms, a fully fitted kitchen and black-out widow shutters. It is also in a great location for accessing all of teh sights and expereinces of Athens.

  The apartment was clean, well decorated and equipped with everything we needed. They provided a travel cot for our infant along with an extra bottle of water, wine and fresh fruit which was so nice. They also left us some traditional biscuits to try. The apartment was a quick 15 min walk to the acropolis and other attraction you could walk or hope in the metro (only about 4 min walk away). Several grocery stores and restaurants near by.
