I mean, sure, it’s got those incredible Acropolis views – and honestly, waking up to see the Parthenon bathed in morning light never gets old – but there’s something about the whole experience that feels more intimate than your typical tourist accommodation.

The studio itself has this lived-in quality that I really appreciated. It’s not trying to be some sterile design hotel, but rather feels like you’re staying in a friend’s well-appointed Athens pied-à-terre. The space is thoughtfully laid out (you can actually move around without bumping into furniture, which is rarer than you’d think in European city centers), and whoever designed it clearly understands that travelers need both comfort and functionality. The kitchenette is properly equipped – I’m talking real plates and decent knives, not the plastic nonsense you usually get. And the bed? Well, let’s just say I slept better there than I have in some five-star places.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the location knowledge you get from staying here. The host clearly knows Athens inside and out, and you’ll find yourself discovering little tavernas and coffee spots that most tourists walk right past. I stumbled onto this incredible local bakery just two blocks away that does these honey-drenched pastries – the kind of place that doesn’t even have a sign in English. The neighborhood has that authentic Athens energy without being too far from the main attractions. You’re close enough to walk to the major sites (the climb up to the Acropolis is actually quite pleasant from this direction), but far enough to escape the tour group crowds when you want to decompress. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving – the streets are narrow and very Greek in their organization – but honestly, you won’t need a car from here anyway. The metro connections are solid, and half the joy of Athens is just wandering the streets and getting a bit lost. One thing to note: this is a residential area, so evenings tend to be genuinely quiet, which was perfect for me but might feel too mellow if you’re looking for nightlife right outside your door. The 9.6 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s the kind of place that exceeds expectations without trying too hard, if that makes sense.

  We loved the amazing view and large roof terrace. The modern, clean, compact apartment has lots of character, and has everything you need. There is a full kitchen with all equipment and appliances. Modern bathroom with plenty of hot water. It’s very close to Psirri, central market and Monastriaki. The owner Mariam is very friendly and helpful.

  This apartment is amazing! Located in the centre of Athens, just a minute walk from the Acropolis. Super clean and cosy, well equipped and beautifully designed. Miriam the owner is a very special lady, with a warm heart and great vibe. And last but not least, the terrace, no words to describe the magical feeling you get as soon as you step in.   The apartment was exactly like the photos overlooking the Acropolis. It was clean and bright, and we felt a positive vibe as soon as we walked in. The comfortable bed, ceiling fan and air conditioning kept the room cool even on a hot summer day. It was within walking distance of the lively Monastiraki and Prysy streets, but surprisingly quiet at night. Mariam was friendly and lovely, offering us mineral water, fruit and coffee. She accommodated our request to store our luggage with her after check-out. Thank you Mariam!

  This is an amazing place to stay in Athens. The penthouse accommodation has a whole wall of windows looking out at the Acropolis and a park across the road. And a massive rooftop balcony that would be great to hang out on if it wasn't so hot. Located in Psiri close to quirky, cool bars and restaurants. Apartment has everything you need. Teen loved the mezzanine bed.
