Acropolis View Penthouse Overview

First Impressions

Walking into the Acropolis View Penthouse, you immediately understand why this four-star property has such devoted fans. The building itself sits on Lykavittou Street in one of Athens’ most coveted neighborhoods, and honestly, the address alone tells you everything about the thoughtful location choice. What strikes you first isn’t flashy decor or marble lobbies — it’s the sense that someone really considered what travelers actually want from their Athens base.

The Location Advantage

Here’s what I love about this spot: you’re positioned perfectly between the tourist essentials and authentic Athens life. Couples consistently rave about the location (and I mean consistently — they rate it 9.4), but it’s not just romantic appeal. You can walk to Syntagma Square in about ten minutes, yet you’re tucked away from the chaos that comes with staying right in the thick of things. The Lycabettus Hill area has this residential feel that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like a temporary local. Plus, you know what’s really convenient? The metro connections nearby actually work well, which isn’t always a given in Athens.

The Penthouse Experience

The rooms live up to that “penthouse” promise — and I was honestly a bit skeptical at first. The views are genuinely spectacular, especially if you snag one of the units facing the Acropolis (though really, most angles give you something worth photographing). The spaces feel more like well-appointed apartments than typical hotel rooms, with enough room to actually unpack and settle in. What impressed me most was the attention to practical details — good lighting for reading, proper storage space, and bathrooms that don’t require contortionist skills to navigate.

Living Like a Local

This is where the Acropolis View Penthouse really shines compared to standard hotels. Many units come with kitchenette facilities, which means you can grab fresh ingredients from the local markets and actually cook if you want to. There’s something satisfying about making Greek coffee in your own space after a morning walk up Lycabettus Hill. The neighborhood has excellent tavernas within walking distance, but having the option to stay in with a bottle of local wine and that Acropolis view? That’s the kind of flexibility that makes a trip memorable.

Why Guests Keep Coming Back

The 9.6 rating isn’t an accident — it comes from consistently delivering on the things that matter most to travelers. You get that unbeatable location without the tourist trap pricing of some nearby hotels. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the good stuff (not just the obvious attractions). And honestly, there’s something special about ending your day on a private terrace with views of ancient monuments lit up against the night sky. It’s the kind of experience that makes you start planning your return visit before you’ve even checked out.

Hotels in Athens dot the marble lanes of Plaka, buzzing Monastiraki, and leafy Kolonaki avenues.

There was a view of the Parthenon on the acropolis from each room! In one bedroom you could lay in bed and see the Parthenon from your pillow. There was a balcony, with a table and chairs, that viewed the Parthenon and which was accessible from the living room and bedrooms. The kitchen was well stocked. The bathroom layout was unusual with both bathrooms adjacent to one bedroom and one not close to the second bathroom, but it was not a problem; just be aware that the bathrooms are not next to each bedroom. Again, the unobstructed view of the Parthenon was amazing!
