First Impressions

When I first walked into Adela’s 1 BR & Living room, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a typical Athens apartment listing. But you know what? This four-star place completely surprised me. The space feels way more thoughtfully put together than most short-term rentals I’ve stayed in — there’s this warm, lived-in quality that makes you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel alternative.

The Space Itself

The layout actually works really well for couples or solo travelers who want some breathing room. The bedroom is separate from the living area, which I mean, sounds obvious, but you’d be surprised how many “one-bedroom” places just have a curtain divider. The living room has this cozy setup where you can actually spread out and relax — I spent quite a bit of time there in the evenings just unwinding after long days exploring the city. The whole place feels clean and well-maintained, not like some of those questionable Airbnb situations where you’re afraid to touch anything.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s where this place really shines — the location on Δρυόπων street puts you right in the heart of Athens without the tourist chaos. I could walk to most of the major sites, but more importantly, I felt like I was staying in an actual neighborhood where real people live. There’s a great little bakery just around the corner (honestly, their spanakopita is incredible), and you’re close enough to Syntagma Square that you can easily hop on the metro to anywhere else you want to go. The couples rating of 9.7 makes total sense — it’s romantic without being overly touristy.

Daily Life & Practical Stuff

What I really appreciated was how easy everything was to figure out. The kitchen has everything you actually need if you want to grab groceries and make breakfast or a simple dinner — which, let’s be honest, can save you quite a bit of money in Athens. The wifi worked perfectly (crucial for staying connected), and I never had any issues with hot water or anything like that. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area, but if you’re relying on public transport like most visitors, it’s really not an issue.

That 9.7 rating isn’t just a fluke — this place gets the fundamentals right in a way that a lot of Athens accommodations miss. You’re getting genuine local flavor without sacrificing comfort or convenience. For the price point and location, it’s honestly one of the better values I’ve found in Athens, especially if you want something that feels more authentic than your typical hotel experience.

  The communication with the host was excellent—very helpful and nice. The location, air conditioner, and utilities were great as well. The only thing I didn’t like was the bed sheet, but maybe I am quite sensitive and would prefer pure cotton.

  We had a great stay for 3 nights here. We really enjoyed staying in Petralona and there was lots of good places to eat and drink nearby. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious. We were out a lot of the time we were there but plenty of room to cook/work/relax if you wanted. Was very close to the metro and convenient to get to the port and airport.

  The renovation and decor of the apartment is lovely. It feels spacious compared to others we have had in Europe. The balcony, full length doors with insect screens are great. Well appointed kitchen. Neighbourhood is a real and untouristy, friendly locals, 5 minutes to train station and good small supermarket wonderful bakeries and cafes.

  We stayed in Adela's for 6 days and our experience was great! The apartment was exactly as described in the listing, with every detail faithfully reflected.
  
  One of the main advantages was the flawless cleanliness, making us feel comfortable immediately upon arrival. The tranquility of our apartment provided a truly restful sleep every night in addition with the excellent bed.
  
  Our host went beyond our expectations. He provided detailed instructions via email that facilitated our arrival, and his prompt responses to every message made us feel genuinely cared for throughout our stay. It was like having a friend by our side, ready to assist with anything we needed.
  
  The location of the apartment was excellent, almost next to a metro station and three supermarkets, surrounded by a plethora of restaurants and cafes to suit every taste.
  
  Overall, our stay was an absolutely positive experience, and we will definitely return to this apartment the next time we visit Athens. Highly recommended!
