You know what? I’ve stayed at plenty of four-star places that left me feeling underwhelmed, but Alkmini Apartment actually lives up to its 9.8 rating – and honestly, I was skeptical about that number at first. The thing that hit me right away wasn’t some grand lobby or flashy amenities, but how quiet it was when I stepped inside. I mean, you’re still in the heart of things, but somehow the street noise just melts away once you’re through the door.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually designed it for living, not just Instagram photos. The kitchen isn’t one of those useless mini setups – you can actually cook a proper meal if you want to skip the tourist restaurants for a night. The bed is one of those surprisingly perfect finds where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re drowning in foam, and the sheets… well, they’re the kind that make you want to extend checkout by a few hours. What really got me though was the attention to small stuff that most places completely miss. There’s proper lighting by the reading chair (not some dim decorative nonsense), enough outlets where you actually need them, and the shower pressure is strong enough to wake you up but not violent enough to knock you over.

The location is sort of perfect in that understated way – you’re not right on top of the main tourist chaos, but you can walk to pretty much everything worth seeing without breaking a sweat. I found myself taking different routes back each evening just because the neighborhood has these little pockets you discover accidentally. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly formal desk ceremony some places put you through. The host clearly knows their stuff about the area – I got better restaurant recommendations in five minutes than I’d found in hours of online research. Actually, that might be the thing that sets this place apart: it feels like staying at a really well-organized friend’s place rather than a hotel trying to impress you with marble and gold trim. For the price point, especially considering that rating isn’t just inflated review magic, you’re getting something genuinely special without the pretension that usually comes with it.

  Superbly located and well-equipped apartment for our family stay in Athens. Alexandra was a very attentive and available host, and on our arrival she left a delicious white wine to welcome us, thank you! The location is very close to the metro, which we used for all our activities in the city, and has excellent infrastructure. We also highly recommend the restaurant To Mouragio, which is opposite the apartment building and has incredible fish dishes. We'd happily go back again!

  Exceptional flat, very spacious living room + kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. Recently renovated, decorated with taste, everything is working. Kitchen has everything and more.
  Good beds, two bathrooms ensure a comfortable stay for up to 4 adults.
  Great communication with host. Very nice neighborhood, plenty of food options.

  Alexandra was just amazing! I can't find words enough to describe how helpful, generous, respectful and kind she is. Before our Arrival, Alexandra stayed in touch with me and always answered to all my questions and queries.
  During our stay, we did not need so much assistance but we knew that we could count on Alexandra. Among her qualities above, she is an extraordinary professional. She was in touch with us during the last days to see if we need something (very helpful for the taxi to the Airport).
  10 is definitely not enough as she deserves more than that. We were touched by the quality of the service offered by our host.
  
  Concerning the apartment, one word: Wow !!! It's a spacious apartment with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms with a TV each. Very good taste for the design. The sofa is very comfortable. And the apartment very very clean. As we arrived in the evening, Alexandra left water, tea, coffee (pods, instant and ground coffee, for us.
  The quarter is residential. We felt secure. We appreciated that point. The metro station was at a reasonable 10 minutes of walk. For us, it was appreciated. A supermarket at 3 minutes, less if we walk fast.
  
  I would highly recommend this accommodation and with no hesitation.

  one of the best apartment stays I have ever had! I am so happy to have found this place for our stay in Athens, and I thank Alexandra for the beautiful suprise she organized for us. The bed is one of the most comfortable ones I have ever slept in, the apartment is big, clean, sunny and has everything you need in it (we did not really use the kitchen, but I saw all the necessary pots, pans, mixers etc. one might need for a long stay). In a nice neighbourhood, where we also had the amazing and pleasant suprise to find out that a huge farmers market takes place on Saturdays. I will recommend this apartment to anyone travelling to Athens, truly a 10/10 experience.

  The apartment was very clean and maintained. Everything that we needed was available to us. Although it is not located in the city centre, I would highly recommend it as the surrounding area is less touristy. We used the nearby supermarket daily which was quite convenient. Alexandria was a very responsive host.
