I found myself gravitating toward the little souvlaki joints that locals frequent, just a block or two away from the main tourist strips.   Very clean apartments, location fantastic literally 30 seconds walk from Monastiriki Square and the Metro station.
  Area felt very safe, plenty of choice for food and drink in the locality. Couple of times we used a restaurant called Sabba's for a Greek Gyros which was excellent and a cafe around the corner for breakfast called Brunchers also superb.

  This apartment has an outstanding location.
  The Monastiraki metro is literally under the house, and the square right across the street. From here you can move anywhere.
  You have all the amenities in the area and it is full of typical restaurants.
