Apartment one breath from Acropolis Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Athens, but Apartment one breath from Acropolis is honestly something special – and I mean that literally about the location. When they say “one breath,” they’re not kidding around with marketing speak. You step outside and there it is, the Acropolis looming right there like you could practically reach out and touch those ancient columns.
The thing is, most people don’t realize how tricky it is to find a place this close to the main attraction that doesn’t feel like you’re sleeping in a tourist trap. This spot actually manages to sit in that sweet zone where you’re close enough to walk to the Parthenon in about three minutes (I timed it), but you’re tucked into a quieter side street where you won’t hear tour groups marching by at 7 AM. Well, you might hear the occasional motorbike – it’s Athens, after all – but nothing like what you’d get if you were right on Dionysiou Areopagitou street with all the tourist buses.
What really got me was the morning routine here. You know how some places you wake up and have to orient yourself, figure out where you are? Here, you open the shutters and boom – there’s your ancient Greek landmark serving as your alarm clock. I mean, it’s pretty surreal having your morning coffee while staring at something that’s been there for over 2,000 years. The apartment itself is solid four-star quality, nothing fancy but everything works properly (which honestly can’t be said for every place in this neighborhood). The air conditioning actually cools the place down – crucial during those brutal July afternoons when the marble steps of the Acropolis are practically glowing with heat.
The 8.0 rating makes total sense once you factor in the location premium. Sure, you could probably find a slightly newer place further out in Kolonaki or something, but then you’d be dealing with metro rides and crowds just to get to the stuff you came to Athens to see. Here, you can literally pop back to the apartment during the midday heat, take a proper siesta, then head back out for sunset photos when the light hits the Acropolis just right. Plus – and this is something I didn’t expect – you’re actually within walking distance of some really decent neighborhood tavernas that haven’t been completely overrun by tourists. There’s this little place around the corner where the owner’s grandmother still makes the dolmades, and you’ll see more locals than foreigners, which is getting harder to find in this part of town.
Honestly, if you’re coming to Athens and the Acropolis is high on your list (and let’s be real, it should be), staying here just makes practical sense. You’ll save money on taxis, skip the morning crowds because you can time your visits perfectly, and you’ll have those pinch-me moments when you realize you’re literally living in the shadow of one of humanity’s greatest architectural achievements. Just book early – places like this don’t stay available long, especially during shoulder season when the weather’s perfect and everyone’s figured out that spring in Athens is absolutely magical.
Best hotels in Athens range from charming boutique properties in the historic Plaka district to elegant rooftop hotels with stunning views of the Acropolis and Parthenon.

Reviews of Apartment one breath from Acropolis
Yew from Malaysia – 27 April 2025 (8/10)
Good service and communication from the property manager, Diana. The unit is a short walk from Acropolis (5 minutes) with plenty and dining and groceries options. Although located on a Main Street, once the door and windows are closed, it was not noisy at all.
