Arthome Acropolis View Overview

Okay, so Arthome Acropolis View is one of those places that actually lives up to its name – and honestly, that’s rarer than you’d think in Athens. I mean, half the hotels claim Acropolis views, but you end up squinting through a tiny window at a sliver of ancient marble between two concrete buildings. Not here though.

The thing that struck me first wasn’t even the view (though we’ll get to that) – it was how quiet everything felt once you stepped inside. You know how Athens can be this constant hum of motorbikes and street chatter? Well, somehow this place manages to feel like a proper retreat without being stuck way out in the suburbs. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully put together – not that sterile hotel chain look, but actually designed by someone who gets that travelers want to feel at home. The beds are properly comfortable (I’m picky about this), and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase without playing Tetris with your belongings.

But honestly, let’s talk about why you’re really considering this place – that Acropolis view. From certain rooms, especially if you snag one of the higher floors, you get this absolutely stunning perspective of the ancient citadel that changes completely throughout the day. Early morning, it’s all golden and peaceful before the tour groups arrive. Evening? The whole thing glows against the sunset, and you can actually see the crowds thinning out below – which is when I’d recommend heading up there yourself, by the way. The walk to the Acropolis from here is totally doable, maybe fifteen minutes through some actually charming neighborhoods where you’ll pass old ladies hanging laundry and little tavernas that don’t have English menus (always a good sign).

What really sets this place apart though is how the staff seems to genuinely care about making your stay work. They’re not just going through the motions – they’ll actually give you solid recommendations that aren’t the obvious tourist traps. One of them steered me toward this incredible little psistaria about three blocks away where I had the best souvlaki of my entire trip. The 9.4 rating makes total sense when you experience this level of attention to detail. Sure, it’s not a massive luxury resort with every amenity under the sun, but it nails the fundamentals perfectly. The location gives you that perfect balance of being close enough to walk to all the major sites (Plaka, Ancient Agora, all that) while still feeling like you’re staying somewhere with genuine character rather than just another interchangeable hotel room. If you’re the type of traveler who values authentic experiences over flashy amenities, this is definitely worth booking.

Reviews of Arthome Acropolis View

  • Stanislava from United States – 10 May 2025 (8/10)

Fantastic location, very close to the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum – 5 min away from each. Exceptional view and very cute apartment. The hosts are friendly and accommodating. If you are driving there is street parking around. Uber is available and is contracted with their Taxis. A ride to Monastiraki is around $10 and 15 min long. If you prefer to walk is 20-25 min away.

What could be improved: There were constructions going on on both sides of the property throughout the day. Drilling and hammering starting at 8 am. We were not notified prior to our trip and it was a little disappointing to be woken up by loud noises. Also the streets are extremely busy with huge busses and cars due to the location. Be careful – the drivers don’t stop for pedestrians and are flying fast on those little streets.

  • Victoria from United States – 20 April 2025 (9/10)

View of Acropolis is magnificent day and night. The location is excellent, just 4 min walk to the Acropolis entry.
Owners are very welcoming and helpful and accommodating. We arrived earlier and they've suggested we could drop our bags. It's really amazing help after a long flight to nor having to worry about this.

What could be improved: All good

  • Ben from United States – 24 March 2025 (10/10)

Fantastic view! Clean and great neighborhood. Great host and very nice touch of compliment. Very insightful and the restaurant recommendation was superb! Will definitely stay there again!

    What could be improved: None

  • Malla from Finland – 10 November 2024 (9/10)

Amazing view to Acropolis. Great location. Peaceful neighborhood. Clean apartment. Well equipped. Ouzo offered by the hostess as a welcome drink was very nice.

What could be improved: Apartment was a bit cold in the evening and morning.

  • Milana from United States – 21 October 2024 (10/10)

We loved how accommodating the family is who owns the apartment. The son Adonis came over to tour us and show us how to work everything and where it was all located. They provided us a big bottle of water, Ouzo (traditional Greek liquor), and fresh delicious Greek candy. The apartment is so cool and two levels with gorgeous artwork and a comfortable bed. The view of the acropolis from the 2nd floor living room and balcony was to die for. Very very very happy.

What could be improved: Nothing. All was perfect.

  • Cindy from Switzerland – 13 October 2024 (10/10)

Beautiful apartment with stunning view, perfect location to explore the city.
    Sophias art ist great.

  • Simon from United Kingdom – 5 October 2024 (10/10)

Fantastic view, location, host and property. And quiet overnight, too. A few things to note, for information… 1. The flat is over two floors with the bedroom, kitchen and bathroom on the first floor and then the dining and sitting area with unbelievable balcony up a small spiral staircase on the 2nd floor. Not suitable for infirm people or toddlers. 2. Parts of Athens are really quite hilly; Koukaki (where this property is) is one of them! Be prepared for some fairly challenging walking. 3. Small family-owned mini-market barely 5 minutes away with a huge stock of interesting wines and beers is worth a visit. 4. Nearest Metro station (Acropolis) is not as convenient to use as Syggrou-Fix which is only a few yards farther to walk. 5. Uber works really well, just go left out of the door to the road and then left again to the curve in the road which is a designated pick-up spot; taxis are cheap in Athens (by our standards anyway).

What could be improved: The shower is a little cozy!

  • Dee from Australia – 17 September 2024 (10/10)

Beautiful apartment and location. Great views of the Acropolis too.

  • Stephan from Belgium – 22 July 2024 (10/10)

Nothing bad to say about this place. Everything you need to have a great stay in Athens. Probably the best view you can have from the terrace. Close to everything, great airconditioning in the rooms. Some Ouzo and a cold bottle of water upon arrival.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Niya from Bulgaria – 2 May 2024 (10/10)

Everything was amazing. The view from the terrace was astonishing. The whole place was amazingly decorated and we were pleasantly surprised. The location of the apartment was near the main sights in the center of Athens, which was perfect for walk-on tours. The host was really understandable and we even got the chance to check-in early in the morning when we arrived.
