I walked down to the waterfront most evenings, and there’s this authentic Greek taverna scene happening – locals bringing their kids, old men playing backgammon, that whole vibe you hope to find but rarely do these days. Getting back to central Athens takes about 30 minutes on public transport, which honestly isn’t bad at all, and parking wasn’t the nightmare I expected if you’re renting a car. The four-star rating feels right – it’s not trying to be some over-the-top luxury experience with marble everywhere and staff hovering around you constantly. Instead, it delivers on the stuff that actually matters: space, comfort, that incredible view, and a real sense of place. I actually extended my stay by two nights, which should tell you something, because I’m usually pretty eager to move on and see the next thing.
