I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Athens View, I wasn’t expecting much from a 4-star place in this part of the city. But you know what? This hotel actually surprised me in all the right ways. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels authentically Greek rather than trying too hard to impress tourists, and the staff genuinely seemed to care about making your stay work out well.

What really won me over was how they’ve managed to capture those spectacular Acropolis views without charging the insane prices you’ll find at the rooftop bars in Plaka. I mean, sure, you’re not right in the middle of the tourist chaos, but honestly that’s a blessing – you can actually get some sleep here without drunk groups stumbling past your window at 3 AM. The rooms themselves are clean and thoughtfully laid out, though I will say the bathroom could use a bit more counter space if you’re the type who travels with half a pharmacy like I do. The air conditioning works properly (trust me, this matters in August), and the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a brick.

Here’s the thing that impressed me most – the breakfast spread actually includes some local touches instead of just generic hotel fare. They had proper Greek yogurt with honey from somewhere in Attica, not the mass-produced stuff, and the coffee was surprisingly decent. The rooftop terrace becomes this perfect spot around sunset where you can sit with a drink and watch the light change on the Parthenon without fighting crowds of selfie-stick wielding tourists. During my stay in early October, it was just busy enough to feel lively but not so packed that you couldn’t find a quiet corner. The 8.7 rating really reflects what you get here – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on the important stuff without any major disappointments. If you’re looking for a solid base to explore Athens from, especially if you want those iconic views without paying Syntagma Square prices, this place hits that sweet spot between comfort and value.

  The location is the best part for us of this apartment. When you are in the lobby the entrance of the metro is less then a 20 meter walk and in 10 minutes or less you are ath the acropolis. There is a supermarket, baery and pasty shop all in 50/100 meters from the lobby as well so while the apartment is great the location is wonderful.

  Absolutely stunning view. The wrap atop balcony was Incredible…. We didn’t want to leave the ping pong table or that view. Apt right beside the tram & metro – such a handy & central location. We loved our stay! I’d definitely recommend to families and friends ♥️

  Beautiful balcony. We got to spend every morning looking out at the Acropolis sipping coffee. Super convenient access to the metro, which you can use to get virtually anywhere. The host was also responsive to any questions that we had during our stay. Highly recommend.

  The place was amazing with the greatest view on Acropolis. Shops like Lidl, Carrefour are situated within walking distance. Apartment is just out of Neos Cosmos metro station so it's superb location if you got 3days tourist ticket for metro. The owner was super helpful. Definitely we will get back to this apartment if we will be in Athens.

  We loved our stay in this beautiful apartment. The best part was the terrace with its dreamy view of the Acropolis. Eating breakfast there in the morning and smelling the orange blossoms was wonderful. The apartment is super close to the metro, just two stops from the Acropolis and the city center.
  Everything was very clean, and nothing was missing. We'd love to come back!

  The location cannot get any better with the metro station at your doorstep and the view of the Acropolis is amazing!!!!! The lovely bakery at the corner is a bonus with very friendly staff and delicious offerings.
  
  What could be improved: We were short one bath towels and it was never resolved. The minimum household products were provided. Needed to purchase dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, olive oil, pepper, sugar. No bread knife or additional trash bags. Asked for 2 sets of keys as we were 2 couples staying a week. Only one provided. Had some electrical issues, no lights on terrace, power outage fried phone charger, many switches did nothing and hot water needed to be boosted. Sadly large plants on terrace are dead. Door to apartment difficult to open and a bit warped.
