I mean, you’re not walking into some nautical nightmare here. The lobby has these deep azure accents mixed with warm whites and natural wood that honestly made me slow down and appreciate the design choices.

What really sets this place apart is the attention to detail that you don’t always get at four-star properties. The staff actually remembers your name after the first interaction (not just because they’re reading your key card), and they seem to genuinely care about making your stay work. I watched them help an elderly couple navigate some issue with their room, and it was clear they were going above and beyond – not just doing the bare minimum customer service thing. The rooms themselves are surprisingly spacious, and I loved that they didn’t go overboard with trendy fixtures that’ll look dated in two years. Instead, they chose quality pieces that feel timeless. The beds are properly comfortable too – you know how some boutique hotels sacrifice comfort for style? Not the case here.

Here’s the thing that really impressed me: the 9.2 rating this place has earned feels completely legitimate. I’ve stayed at hotels that claim similar scores but fall short on execution, but Azur delivers on the details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The WiFi works everywhere (including by the pool), the water pressure is excellent, and the housekeeping team clearly takes pride in their work – I came back to find my bathroom towels folded in a way that was elegant without being fussy. The location works well too, though I’d recommend asking for a room away from the main street if you’re a light sleeper. It’s not overly noisy, but there’s some evening activity that might bother you if you’re planning to turn in early. Check-in was smooth, parking was straightforward, and they have this nice little evening reception thing – nothing fancy, just some local wine and snacks – that gives you a chance to decompress after travel. I actually ended up chatting with other guests, which doesn’t always happen at hotels these days. If you’re looking for a place that gets the fundamentals right while adding some genuine style and personality, this is definitely worth considering.

Hotel in Athens booking should be done early, especially during summer festival season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cultural and theatrical performances.

  The flat was very clean, spacious and comfortable. As a young couple we really enjoyed our stay right in the center. Cafés and bars are right downstairs and we didn't feel bothered by noises at night.

  Azur was the perfect base for exploring Athens and in the middle of hustle and bustle of Psiri. The photos of the flat are very accurate and it was immaculately cleaned. I really enjoyed the decor and kept telling my husband we should get a lamp like this or photos like that!
  
  We were pleased our baby had a clean cot and high chair which was a key determining factor for staying, as well as a separate bedroom space (so we parents can enjoy time off after bedtime) but I would stay there again without our baby – it represented good value in a good location. Many reviews commented on the noise – neither my husband or I (or the baby) was impacted by this.

  We absolutely loved this apartment. It’s in a perfect location, it was spotlessly clean, and so well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a short stay. The extra little touches made such a difference, from the selection of tea and coffee pods, to the super soft fluffy towels!
