You know what caught me off guard about BAG- Boutique Apartment Grey – Hilton Area? It’s actually nothing like what you’d expect from something with “boutique apartment” in the name. I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of those cookie-cutter serviced apartments that try too hard to be trendy, but this place genuinely feels like someone with actual taste designed it to be lived in, not just photographed for Instagram.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to be near all the Hilton area action without dealing with the chaos. You’re close enough to walk to the good restaurants and that whole strip of bars, but far enough back that you’re not hearing drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM. The building itself has this understated grey exterior (hence the name, I’m guessing) that doesn’t scream “look at me” like some of the flashier hotels in the area. Check-in was surprisingly smooth – they actually remembered my name and had everything ready, which is more than I can say for some five-star places I’ve stayed at.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to detail inside. The apartment – and it really does feel more like an apartment than a hotel room – has this perfect balance of modern fixtures without being sterile. The kitchen actually works (I made coffee every morning and even cooked dinner one night), the bed is legitimately comfortable, and honestly, the shower pressure is better than what I have at home. The grey color scheme throughout could have felt cold, but they’ve balanced it with warm lighting and these little touches like actual books on the shelves and artwork that doesn’t look like it came from a hotel supply catalog. Plus, there’s decent storage space, which you’d be surprised how many places completely forget about. The WiFi is solid too – I had video calls for work without any issues. I did notice the AC unit can be a bit noisy when it kicks on, but it cools the place down fast, so you can usually turn it off pretty quickly. With a 9.3 rating, it’s clear other people are picking up on the same things I noticed – this place just works without trying too hard to impress you.

  The apartment was modern, clean and in a great location. Just one Metro stop away from Syntagma square. What was great was the number of excellent restaurants within a short walking distance from three property.

  the apartment is sparely furnished but it is sufficient. there is an alarm, a TV in the bed room and lounge room. We needed to provide our own Netflix login. the hoasts minded our luggage as we arrived early and out it in the apartment for us at check in time.
  
  There are lots of places to eat from budget to expensive within a block or two.

  Suited our family perfectly!. We used the apartment to explore Athens. Most days, we walked into the city, which took about 30 minutes but a taxi was only 6€. The air conditioning is a must in the Athens summer! Hosts were very helpful, and communication was brilliant.
