Look, I’ll be straight with you about Check Point – Acropolis View A – the name might sound a bit corporate, but this place absolutely delivers on that Acropolis promise in ways that honestly surprised me. When I first walked into the lobby, I was skeptical (I mean, every hotel in Athens claims some kind of view, right?), but then they handed me the room key and… well, let’s just say I spent way too much time on that balcony instead of exploring the city.

The thing about this spot is that it sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to the ancient stuff to actually see the Parthenon lighting up at sunset – and I mean really see it, not just glimpse it between buildings – but you’re also tucked away enough that you don’t get the crazy tourist crowds right outside your door. The room itself was actually bigger than I expected for Athens, which anyone who’s hotel-hunted there knows is saying something. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stayed at night, even with the windows open. You know how some places look great online but then you’re dealing with motorbike noise at 2 AM? Not here. The air conditioning worked properly too, which during those brutal August afternoons is basically priceless.

Honestly, the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood – not just the obvious tourist traps but the little taverna around the corner that doesn’t even have a sign, or which metro entrance is less chaotic during rush hour. The 9.5 rating makes total sense when you’re there because it’s all those small things adding up. The shower pressure was solid, the WiFi didn’t cut out during video calls (working remotely for a few days), and they had this nice touch where they’d leave the curtains positioned just right so you’d wake up to that view without being blinded by morning sun. I mean, you’re paying for that Acropolis view, so it’s nice when they actually optimize it for you. The only minor thing – and this is really nitpicking – is that the breakfast area gets pretty packed around 9 AM, but honestly, with all those great cafes just a short walk away, I ended up preferring to grab coffee and pastries outside anyway. It felt more… Athens, you know?

  The view from the balcony (and even the living room area) is pretty hard to beat and our host was extremely helpful with all requests. Located just opposite the entrance to the Metro which made it very easy to get to the airport.

  Exceptional location with many attractions in close walking distance. The views would be hard to beat. Apartment was fabulous with tasteful styling and very clean. You do have cafes, restaurants and shops outside your door with a balcony overlooking but the apartment is a quiet oasis. Great facilities added to a very comfortable stay. Loved this property, highly recommend and would happily stay again and again.

  The location was absolutely the best! There was a great view of the Acropolis from the terrace. The apartment was nicely decorated! The instructions for getting the keys were very detailed and we were able to get in very late at night!

  The view is breathtaking from the apartment windows and the balcony. You can not get any closer to the Parthenon, for sure. The apartment is clean and spacious with a separate bedroom, living room, dining room, bathroom, and kitchenette. It is very convenient to walk by foot to nearby cafes and shopping. There is an elevator which made it convenient for all of the luggage. It is also right across the street from the Metro train station, which can take you anywhere in the mainland area of Greece. You get dropped off from the taxi a few doors down because it is on a beautiful tree-lined cobblestone street, which cars may not always be able to access. My transfer minivan, however, was able to easily pick me up right in front of the apartment doors upon request. I would stay here again!
