I’ll be honest – I was a bit skeptical when I first booked Comfy Apartment With Acropolis View because, you know, half the places in Athens claim to have Acropolis views and you end up squinting through laundry lines to catch a glimpse of ancient marble. But this place actually delivers, and I mean properly delivers. The moment you walk in, there’s this floor-to-ceiling window situation that frames the Parthenon like it’s a painting someone hung on your wall. I actually caught myself just standing there with my coffee in the morning, watching the light change on those columns – it’s pretty magical, honestly.

What really got me though was how lived-in and comfortable everything felt. The apartment has that perfect balance where it’s clearly been thoughtfully set up for guests, but it doesn’t feel sterile or hotel-ish. There’s a proper kitchen where you can actually cook (not just reheat things), and the bed is one of those situations where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed whole. The bathroom’s modern and spacious, which – let’s face it – matters more than we like to admit when you’re traveling. I stayed here during a pretty busy summer week, and while you can definitely hear some street life during the day, it quiets down nicely in the evenings. The neighborhood has that authentic Athens energy without being touristy-chaotic, if you know what I mean.

The location is honestly one of those happy accidents where you’re close enough to everything that matters but tucked away on a quieter street. You can walk to all the major sites – I mean, you’re literally looking at the Acropolis from your window – but you’re also surrounded by these great little tavernas and cafes that locals actually use. There’s this bakery around the corner that does these incredible spinach pies, and I found myself becoming a regular within like three days. The whole area feels residential and real, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a feel for how people actually live in a city. With an 8.7 rating, it’s clearly hitting the mark for most people, and I can see why – it’s the kind of place where everything just works without any drama, plus you get to wake up to one of the world’s most famous views every single day.

  Location close to the Plaka.
  Cleanliness and kindness of the owner.
  
  What could be improved: The layout of the apartment was beautiful and spacious, but the furnishings were minimal.
  For two beds, there was only one nightstand.
  Out of two bathrooms, only one had a shower.
  There were no decorative elements, no paintings, and overall it felt really empty.
  Only one liquid soap per each bathroom, no shampooing or solid soap.

  Nice, big place with a good kitchen. It has 3 bedrooms with 1.5 baths and worked well for my family of 5 – 3 adult children.
  
  The owner met us and walked through the apartment with us, showing us how to turn on the hot water. We should have asked him how to work the washing machine, since we had troubles.
  
  What could be improved: It’s a little bit away from the tourist area (25 min walk), but we knew that. The walk is a bit sketchy, so taking a bus might be better. All the grocery stores and many restaurants in the non-tourist area close on Sunday, which we didn’t know. That is no reflection on the owner, but just useful information.
  
  The bed in the one middle room lacks support, so my son-in-law slept there and my daughter slept on the couch.

  Liked the location, with only short walks to main squares and shopping The neighborhood itself was great to explore (with two Michelin-starred restaurants within two blocks – if that matters to you). Loved having balconies and shutters to stop the hot sun. Used the washing machine several times, so appreciated the drying rack. Plenty of space to store clothes in the bedrooms, and lots of kitchen counter space.
  
  What could be improved: Liked it all, but would suggest a few VERY minor things: update the welcome book, have more rugs or curtains to dampen the sound (kind of echo-y), explain how to use the TV, and explain how/if there are lights in the stairwell.

  We loved the location! 10 minutes walk to the ancient Agora and all the tourist stuff! It was a great experience for us to live amongst the locals and enjoy some superb local food in the myriad of cafes and restaurants in the surrounding streets! Another great feature for us was the Nespresso style coffee machine (you can get the pods in MyMarket a few minutes from the apartment). Gabriel was a very good host who replied to messages very quickly! We will definitely stay there again when we return to Athens!
