The moment I stepped out onto the street, I could actually see the Parthenon glowing in the morning light – not just a glimpse between buildings, but properly see it. That’s when you realize this place isn’t just using “Heart of Acropolis” as marketing fluff.

The flat itself feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room, which honestly makes all the difference when you’re trying to get a feel for Athens. The owner clearly knows what travelers need – there’s proper blackout curtains (trust me, you’ll appreciate this when you’re jet-lagged), a kitchen stocked with basics, and the WiFi actually works reliably. I mean, the décor isn’t going to win any design awards, but everything’s clean and comfortable, and you’ve got enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The shower pressure was surprisingly decent too, which… well, if you’ve stayed in older European buildings, you know that’s not always a given.

What really makes this place special is how walkable everything is from here. The Acropolis Museum is maybe a ten-minute stroll – I’d actually recommend going there first before heading up to the Parthenon itself. Plaka’s tourist restaurants are close enough for convenience, but you’re also within easy reach of neighborhoods where actual Athenians eat. There’s this little souvlaki place about three blocks down that doesn’t even have an English menu, but the owner’s daughter translates and the lamb is incredible. The narrow streets can get pretty lively in the evenings (especially weekends), so if you’re a super light sleeper, pack some earplugs – though honestly, the energy is part of the charm. You’ll hear people chatting on their balconies, maybe some street musicians, the occasional motorbike – it’s Athens being Athens. During the day it’s much quieter, perfect for that afternoon nap after climbing around ancient ruins in the heat. Just a heads up that parking is basically nonexistent around here, but the metro connections are solid and taxis know exactly where you are when you mention the area.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Athens at least two months ahead for major events like cultural festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near ancient attractions.

  Wow! This apartment is absolutely PERFECT! The bed was unbelievably comfortable (felt like sleeping on a cloud) and the apartment was very clean. The kitchen has everything you need (there was even coffee, cooking oil, herbs, tea, sugar, salt). The living room was spacious and the wifi worked great.
  
  Nasos was the best host, super responsive, helpful, and organized!!!! There is even a website that has EVERYTHING you need to know: a video showing how to get into the apartment, local recommendations, baggage storage nearby, and so so much more! We have been travelling for 8 months and Nasos is by far the most organized and proactive host we have had anywhere in the world.
  
  I haven’t even gotten to the best part yet… the location! You are ridiculous close to the acropolis! We just walked to all of the sightseeing destinations, walked home for lunch (trying to keep on a tight budget), and then back out for more sightseeing!

  The apartment is in a superb place, nearby everything you need. From Monastirski metro station, to shop, restaurants and of course the Acropolis where you better want to be at the opening.
  Rooms are clean and situated on a quiet street. The double bed is wide, but for a tall person (195cm+) it can be a little short. It's not a problem for a few nights though.
  The owner is responsive and kind.
  
  What could be improved: A fridge set to almost minimum power can freeze yogurt. It looks like it has no separate freezer doors.
