But everything works, everything’s clean, and you get that rare feeling that you’re staying somewhere that locals might actually recommend to their visiting friends. The check-in was smooth, housekeeping was unobtrusive, and when the elevator was having a moment one afternoon, they sorted it within hours rather than days.

If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re discovering Athens rather than just visiting it, this place gets it right. You’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters, the neighborhood has actual character, and you’ll sleep well enough to tackle those ancient sites without feeling like you’ve been hit by a bus.
