The suites themselves are… well, they’re comfortable without trying too hard to be fancy. I stayed in one of the larger units, and it actually felt like someone’s well-appointed apartment rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchen was functional enough that I could make proper coffee in the morning (thank god, because Greek hotel coffee can be hit or miss), and there’s something satisfying about picking up fresh bread from the local bakery and eating breakfast on your little balcony. The AC worked perfectly, which – trust me – matters more than you think it will when Athens decides to turn into an oven in July. I will say the Wi-Fi was a bit spotty in the evenings, probably because everyone in the building was streaming something, but honestly? It forced me to actually read the book I’d been carrying around for months.

What I really appreciated was how the staff handled things. Check-in was smooth, no weird upselling attempts, and when I had a question about getting to Piraeus for a day trip, the guy at the front desk actually drew me a little map showing which metro stops to avoid during rush hour. That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t Google. The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feel – you’ll walk past corner cafes where the same old guys play backgammon every afternoon, and there’s a fantastic souvlaki place about three blocks away that doesn’t even have English on the menu. I ate there probably four times because, well, when you find good food at local prices, you stick with it. The walk to Plaka takes maybe 15 minutes if you don’t get distracted by street art, which you will. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Athens rather than just visiting it, if that makes sense.
