I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Fos Residential Apartments, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The word “residential” made me think it might be one of those sterile extended-stay places, but wow, was I wrong. This 4-star property actually feels more like staying in a really well-appointed friend’s apartment than a typical hotel, and I mean that in the best possible way.

What struck me right away was how the staff treats you – there’s this genuine warmth that you don’t always get at bigger hotels. The check-in process was smooth (no long lines or corporate script reading), and they actually seemed interested in helping rather than just going through the motions. The apartments themselves are spacious in a way that surprises you – I found myself spreading out my stuff and actually living in the space rather than just camping out like you do in regular hotel rooms. The kitchenette isn’t just for show either; it’s got everything you need if you want to grab groceries and make breakfast, which honestly saved me a ton of money during my stay. The living areas have this comfortable, lived-in quality without being worn down, if that makes sense.

You know what really impressed me though? The attention to details that matter when you’re actually staying somewhere for more than a night or two. There’s proper lighting for reading, enough outlets near the bed (thank god), and the Wi-Fi actually works consistently throughout the unit. The bathroom has decent water pressure – I know it sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many places mess this up. Noise levels were totally reasonable too; I could hear some activity in the hallways during busier times, but nothing that kept me awake. The 9.1 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there – it’s the kind of place where everything just works without any drama or surprises. I actually ended up extending my stay by two nights because, well, why mess with a good thing? If you’re looking for somewhere that feels like a temporary home base rather than just a place to crash, this spot really delivers on that front.

  Great location in the heart of Plaka/Athens. As you look up you'll see the Acropolis. It's not super close to the metro station but part of staying in Plaka is you shouldn't need to take the metro to go to the most impressive sights.
  
  Kitchen is convenient should you need to whip up something quick. There's no microwave though so you'll have to use the oven or stove top to heat up food
  
  Host is very communicative and was available for any questions we had.
  
  There's only one bedroom but the living room is essentially another one, and you can comfortably sleep 4 people.
  
  What could be improved: Depending on which room you have, the view of the Acropolis may be more or less impressive. However if you just step outside you can see it

  The location is great for historical sites (we had a view of the Acropolis too) and shopping, eating etc., the flat is spacious and clean, two bathrooms(!), and the hosts were very accommodating.
