I mean, Glyfada itself is already a bit of a hidden gem if you ask me. Most tourists get stuck in central Athens or rush straight to the islands, but honestly, this seaside suburb has this relaxed vibe that feels more like a proper Greek town than a tourist trap. The Glyfada Unique Residence sits right in the heart of it all – you can walk to the beach in maybe ten minutes (I timed it), and there’s this great little bakery just around the corner that does these incredible spinach pies. The kind of place where locals actually queue up at 7 AM, which you know means it’s the real deal.

What really gets me about this place though is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between boutique charm and actual comfort. The rooms have this modern Greek aesthetic – think clean lines but with character, not the sterile box situation you get at some chain hotels. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised by the soundproofing. Glyfada can get a bit lively in the evenings (especially near the main shopping area), but inside the residence, it’s properly quiet. The staff genuinely seem to know what they’re doing too – check-in was smooth, and when I mentioned I was looking for a good taverna that wasn’t touristy, the guy at reception didn’t just point me to the nearest place but actually drew me a little map to this family-run spot about fifteen minutes away. That attention to detail shows up in their 9.3 rating, and honestly, I can see why.

Here’s the thing about staying in Glyfada – you’re getting the best of both worlds. You can hop on the tram and be in central Athens in about 45 minutes (the line runs pretty frequently), but you’re also close enough to proper beaches that you can actually have a swim without fighting crowds of cruise ship passengers. The Glyfada Unique Residence gets this balance perfectly. It’s not trying to be a resort – there’s no massive pool or spa complex – but it gives you a solid base to explore both the city and the coast. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare it is in Plaka or Monastiraki, which anyone who’s driven in Athens will tell you is worth its weight in gold.

  The apartment is gorgeous, very stylish, lots of space, with everything you need. The view is nice and the location (nearly) right on the beach, with bars, restaurants and shops in walking distance. The team is very helpful, friendly and proactive.
