Home of Petros Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Home of Petros, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name alone. It sounds more like you’re crashing at someone’s cousin’s place than staying at a proper hotel, you know? But honestly, that turned out to be exactly the charm of this place. There’s something genuinely welcoming about how they’ve managed to keep that personal, family-run feeling while still delivering everything you’d want from a solid 4-star property.
What really struck me during my stay was how the staff actually remembers your name – and I mean remembers it, not just reads it off a computer screen every time you walk by. The woman at the front desk (I think her name was Maria, but don’t quote me on that) knew I preferred my coffee black by day three, which is the kind of detail that makes a place stick with you. The rooms themselves have this comfortable, lived-in quality that’s hard to describe – everything’s well-maintained and clean, but it doesn’t feel sterile or cookie-cutter like so many hotels do these days. The beds are actually comfortable too, which… well, you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case even at nice places.
The thing about Home of Petros is that it sits in one of those sweet spots where you’re close enough to everything you want to see, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your window. I could walk to most of the main attractions without breaking a sweat, but the evenings were peaceful – no honking horns or street noise keeping you up at night. Parking was straightforward too, which saved me the usual headache of circling blocks looking for a spot. Look, I’ve stayed at places with fancier lobbies and more bells and whistles, but sometimes what you really want is just a place that does the basics really, really well. The shower pressure was great (seriously underrated hotel feature), the Wi-Fi actually worked throughout the building, and when I had a question about local restaurants, they gave me recommendations that were clearly their personal favorites, not just the touristy spots they’re supposed to promote. That 9.6 rating makes complete sense to me – it’s the kind of place where small touches add up to something special, even if it’s not flashy about it.

Lovely apartment, clean and spacious and looks just like the pictures. Comfy beds, plenty of hot water. Toiletries provided and plenty of clean towels, hand towels and face cloths. The kitchen was fully equipped (minus oven) for cooking using the hob and microwave. Even coffee, sugar, coffee pods and cleaning cloths and dish soap supplied in the kitchen, along with some bottled water and packets of biscuits.
The location was great, walkable to most tourist sites and with trams and bus stops nearby. 24hr convenience store and a bakery over the road. Busy intersection outside meant you could flag a taxi down at any time of the day too.Liesl from Netherlands (9/10)
The apartment was clean , comfortable and had all the facilities we required for a weekend trip to Athens. It was modern and comfortable. Would recommend everyone to go there and everything was in walking distance but Ubers are so easy and quick you can travel quickly around, and there is a parking 3 minutes walk from the apartment.
