Speaking of which, there’s this little grocery store about a ten-minute walk away where the owner speaks just enough English to help you find what you need, and the produce is honestly better than what you’ll find in the touristy areas. The Wi-Fi works reliably (always a concern when you’re trying to stay connected), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing on the roof, which – let’s be honest – has been an issue at other places I’ve stayed in Greece. Parking was surprisingly straightforward too, though I’d recommend asking about the local street cleaning schedule. The rating of 8.6 feels about right, maybe even a bit conservative. It’s the kind of place where small details add up to something really special, even if there isn’t one single jaw-dropping feature that’ll end up on your Instagram. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, you know?
