The moment you step through those doors, you’re hit with this perfect blend of old-world Greek elegance and modern sophistication that doesn’t feel forced or over-the-top. The marble lobby has this warm, honey-colored glow in the afternoons, and you know what really struck me? The staff doesn’t hover around trying to impress you – they just know their stuff and let the place speak for itself.

What really sets this hotel apart is its location in the heart of Athens, just steps from Syntagma Square. You’re literally a two-minute walk from watching the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which happens every hour and is worth catching at least once. The National Garden is right there too, perfect for morning jogs or evening strolls when the city heat dies down. I loved being able to walk to Plaka in about ten minutes – you know, that charming old neighborhood with the narrow cobblestone streets and tavernas where locals actually eat, not just tourists. The hotel sits on this busy street, but somehow the rooms are surprisingly quiet (well, at least the ones facing the courtyard – can’t speak for all of them).

The rooms themselves feel genuinely luxurious without being stuffy. The beds are ridiculously comfortable – I’m talking sink-right-in, wake-up-refreshed kind of comfortable. Air conditioning works perfectly, which is crucial during those scorching Athens summers. The bathrooms have these deep marble tubs that I actually used, something I rarely do in hotels. What impressed me most was the attention to small details: the way they arrange fresh flowers in the lobby each morning, how the concierge remembers your name after one conversation, the fact that room service arrives exactly when they say it will. Check-in was smooth, parking can be arranged (though it’s pricey, like everywhere in central Athens), and the rooftop area offers some pretty spectacular views of the Acropolis – especially magical around sunset. With an 8.8 rating, this place has earned its reputation, and after spending several nights there, I can see why people keep coming back. It’s the kind of hotel that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the real Athens, not just passing through it.

  10 out of 10!!! A five-star hotel that deserves every single star. It was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was comfortable, the amenities were top-notch, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again in the future and I duly recommend it if you want to feel that you are in a palace and to be treated as a prince or princess for a few days.
