Larissa Railway &Metro station apartment Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked into Larissa Railway &Metro station apartment, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what sounds like a pretty utilitarian name. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you upfront. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Athens on Adrianoupoleos street, and while it might not have the flashiest lobby, there’s something refreshingly straightforward about the whole setup that I actually appreciated.

Location That Actually Works

Here’s the thing about staying near Larissa Station — you’re basically at the center of Athens’ transport universe, which sounds chaotic but is actually brilliant. The metro connections here are incredible, and I mean that. You can get to Syntagma Square in about 10 minutes, Monastiraki in 15, and honestly, most of the major archaeological sites are just a few stops away. What surprised me most was how this area has this authentic, lived-in feel that you don’t get in the touristy neighborhoods. There are proper Greek tavernas around the corner, not the overpriced tourist traps you’ll find near the Acropolis.

The Apartment Experience

The room I stayed in was more like a proper studio apartment than your typical hotel setup. There’s a decent kitchenette that actually works — I made coffee every morning and even managed a simple dinner one night when I was too tired to venture out. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile, which I know some people might find off-putting, but I thought it had character. The bed was comfortable enough, and there’s good natural light during the day. The bathroom is compact but functional, and the water pressure was better than I expected for this part of the city.

Getting Around and Neighborhood Vibes

What I really loved about this location is how connected you feel to actual Athens life. In the morning, you’ll see commuters rushing to catch trains, students heading to university, and locals doing their daily shopping. It’s not prettified for tourists, which means you get a genuine slice of the city. The metro station is literally right there — I timed it once and it took me 90 seconds to get from the building entrance to the platform. For parking, well, this is central Athens, so don’t even think about renting a car. But honestly, you won’t need one.

Why Guests Love It

The 9.1 rating makes perfect sense once you spend a night here. It’s not about fancy amenities or Instagram-worthy interiors — it’s about being in exactly the right spot to explore Athens without the tourist markup. Couples seem to particularly appreciate the authentic neighborhood feel and the fact that you can walk to a proper Greek restaurant in any direction. The value for money is solid, especially considering you’re getting apartment-style space in such a well-connected location. I’d definitely stay here again, particularly if I was planning to do day trips outside Athens since the railway connections are so convenient.

Early hotels booking in Athens requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s legendary archaeological sites and Mediterranean atmosphere.

We loved our stay in the apartment. We needed something close to the station and this delivered with all the facilities we required. A special shout out to Nikita, who was a tremendous host – we forgot one of our items when checking out, but he held onto it and met us to give it back when we came back through Athens a couple of days after.

Beautiful apartment with well appointed kitchen (didn't have time to use it) and large marble bathroom. Thanks again to Nikita, the host, for doing his best to accommodate an earlier check in.

Everything was perfect! Very easy to check-in, the apartment was super clean and had everything we needed. The shower was perfect, the washing machine was working, air con in the room and complete kitchen. We used mainly taxi and bus to get around and it was very central. Nikita is a great host. Highly recommend it and would stay there again.
