The location is honestly unbeatable if you want to feel like you’re living in Athens rather than just visiting. I mean, you’re literally walking distance from the Acropolis (and I’m talking a pleasant stroll, not a hike), but you’re also tucked into this neighborhood that still feels authentically Greek. The little taverna around the corner – I won’t spoil the discovery, but the owner Maria makes a mean moussaka – became my regular spot by day three. What I loved most was how quiet it gets in the evenings. Thiseio has this magical quality where tourists thin out after sunset, leaving you with locals heading home from work and the occasional couple wandering the cobblestones.

The apartment itself? Well, it’s got that four-star comfort without feeling stuffy or hotel-like. The space actually feels lived-in (in a good way), with those little touches that make you want to brew coffee in the morning instead of rushing out. I particularly appreciated the windows – they frame the neighborhood perfectly, and honestly, I spent way too much time just watching daily life unfold below. The 8.6 rating makes sense to me; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Athens, but it nails what it’s going for. My only minor gripe? The Wi-Fi got a bit spotty during busy hours, but that might’ve been a blessing in disguise – forced me to actually explore instead of scrolling my phone. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’ve got a temporary home base in one of Athens’ most charming neighborhoods, this place delivers on that promise beautifully.

  Apartament #1: We loved everything!
  
  The location was excellent, just a 10 minutes walk from the Monastiraki subway station.
  
  The view of the Acropolis breathtaking! (I’ll share a pic of the sunrise from the bedroom)
  
  We did not meet the owner since everything was discussed online, but they were always friendly and replied all our questions quickly.
  
  Getting the keys was easy by following the instructions given the day of arrival.
  
  The kitchen had everything you need to cook: stove, oven, a big fridge, cutlery, pans and pots, glasses, plates, even dish soap so you don’t have to buy it.
  
  Near the apartment there are a small supermarket and a bakery.
  
  It is one and a half block from a busy tourist street, even so it is a quiet area.
  
  The private terrace was a great place to sit and have a beer or a wine while looking at the Acropolis in the far.
  
  The Wi-Fi worked without any issues.

  By the recommendation of the staff, we booked this flat as it is more convenient for a family with a dog. Before arriving, I was contacted by the staff and already informed for every detail. It was an amazing experience as a short summary! First of all, flat is equipped perfectly that you can find everything you need. Staff is easily reachable and it was amazing that even one time we did not meet face to face but they were so supportive! Location is perfect to reach out all the historical places on foot. View was extraordinary. There are no nice restaurants around the house. We will definitely stay here in our future visits!

  The outdoor balcony was absolutely massive, with a spectacular view of the Acropolis. Even the angle of the Parthenon was picture perfect. We spent most of our time on the balcony, gazing in amazement.
  It was a very short walk to our favourite restaurants. The bed was very comfortable.
