Living near Acropolis by Sylvia Staikou 2nd & 3d floor overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Living near Acropolis by Sylvia Staikou 2nd & 3d floor, I was a bit skeptical about the lengthy name. But you know what? After staying there, I actually get why they kept it so descriptive. This place really is all about Sylvia’s personal touch and, well, living like a local within walking distance of the Acropolis.
The moment you step into either the second or third floor apartment (and yes, there are two levels available), you realize this isn’t your typical hotel setup. Sylvia has created something that feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place – someone who actually knows how to make guests comfortable. The spaces have this lived-in quality that I mean in the best possible way. Real books on the shelves, kitchen essentials that aren’t just for show, and those little touches like quality coffee and local guidebooks that someone clearly handpicked. The 9.6 rating makes complete sense once you’re there because honestly, it’s the kind of place where someone clearly sweated the details that matter to actual travelers.
What really got me was the location – and I’m not just talking about being close to the big tourist sites, though obviously that’s nice. You’re in this residential neighborhood where you can hear actual Athenian life happening below your windows. Morning coffee runs to the corner bakery, evening conversations drifting up from the street, that sort of thing. The Acropolis views are there (depending on which floor and room you get), but it’s more about feeling connected to the city itself. I found myself taking different routes to explore each day because the area just invites wandering. Fair warning though – you’ll want to pack light or be prepared for those stairs, especially if you end up on the third floor. But honestly? The slight workout is worth it for the elevated perspective you get of the neighborhood. The whole experience feels less like checking into accommodation and more like temporarily joining this corner of Athens, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually experience a place rather than just visit it.

Sylvia is very warm person. She had arrived before us, not just she helped us with everything nearby, she also left us with messages and maps about what to eat nearby. The room itself is so cozy and warm and was reflecting host's warmth in every small item. Sylvia had kept soom food for us as well she had bought some groceries for us to cook. We wish we stayed here longer. The room was very clean.

Sylvia was waiting for us on our arrival and showed us around the apartment. The apartment was small but so lovely. The bed was comfortable with a choice of pillows which really impressed me! Sylvia had thought of everything including pod coffee, delicious snacks and breakfast items. Sylvia also gave us recommendations for roof top bars, dining, shopping and tourist attractions. The apartment was close to the Acropolis and the Plaka so perfect for wandering around the city. Unfortunately our stay was short, we would have loved to stay longer and enjoy Sylvia’s apartment more. The apartment is also serviced by a small elevator. I would def recommend this apartment to other like minded travellers. Could be improved: Nothing

Location was excellent, close to the Acropolis and Parliament, and other landmarks, restaurants and shops. Lots of space in apt, with partial view of Acropolis. The owner, Sylvia, took care of us, and included many personal touches. Could be improved: This apartment fit our travel style well. There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
