I’ll be honest – when I first saw the listing for Luxury 1-Bedroom Apartment by the Sea in Athens, I was a bit skeptical about the “luxury” part. You know how these things go online sometimes. But walking into this place actually made me stop in my tracks for a second. The space feels significantly bigger than most Athens apartments I’ve stayed in, and that 9.7 rating? Yeah, I get it now.

What really struck me was how they’ve managed to capture that breezy coastal vibe without going overboard with the nautical theme – no cheesy anchors or rope everywhere, thank god. The bedroom has this massive window that actually opens (surprisingly rare in many Greek rentals), and honestly, the sea breeze that comes through in the evenings is worth the stay alone. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters if you’re like me and get tired of taverna food after a few days. I mean, I love souvlaki as much as the next person, but sometimes you just want to make coffee the way you like it, you know?

The location is where this place really shines though. You’re close enough to hear the waves – not the traffic, which is honestly refreshing in a city like Athens – but you’re not stuck way out in some resort bubble either. I could walk to decent restaurants within five minutes, and there’s this little bakery nearby that locals actually use (always a good sign). The building itself is quieter than I expected; I was worried about paper-thin walls, but even with Greek families who, let’s face it, aren’t exactly known for whispering, I slept well. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season – well, it’s Athens, so parking is always somewhat of an adventure – but the host actually gave me specific street names where I’d have better luck, which showed they really know the area. The check-in was smooth too, none of that “meet me at some random corner at exactly 3:47 PM” nonsense. Just practical, straightforward communication that made everything easy.

  Es war alles gemütlich gestaltet, man hat sich fast wie zu Hause gefühlt, alles notwendige für den täglichen Bedarf war vor Ort. Der Strand befindet sich 3 min Fußweg entfernt. Schöne Restaurants und weitere Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in unmittelbarer Nähe.
  
  Öffentliche Verkehrsmittel auch in der Nähe. Hätten wir vorher gewusst dass die Verbindungen so gut sind, hätten wir auf einen Mietwagen verzichtet. Trotzdem hatte der Mietwagen auch Vorteile.
  
  What could be improved: Ich habe nichts zu beanstanden, wären im Kühlschrank aber noch ein oder zwei Flaschen Wasser gewesen, hätten wir uns Mega gefreut. An sonsten sind 24/7 immer irgendwelche Einkaufsmöglichkeiten vorhanden.

  Very close to the beach. Easy access to the city center. Nice building and the apartment. Top floor, plenty of light. Big shop on the corner. Found nice taverna as well.

  My parents and I can’t rate highly enough of Baran’s tastefully renovated seaside apartment. The apartment is modern, comfortable and super neat. It is very conveniently located by beautiful Edem beach yet offers easy access with the tramline close by which gets us to historical part of Athens.
  Baran as a host is very kind and very responsive to our needs. Thank you again for such an enjoyable stay!
