Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Athens, but Luxury Studio in Historical Center, Syntagma-Plaka really surprised me. I mean, when you hear “luxury studio,” you’re usually bracing yourself for something tiny with fancy towels and not much else – but this place actually delivers on both the luxury and the location in a way that made sense.

The thing is, you’re right in that sweet spot between Syntagma and Plaka, which honestly is where you want to be if you’re trying to do Athens properly. I could walk to the Ancient Agora in maybe eight minutes (I timed it because I’m weird like that), and getting to Monastiraki for the flea market was just this easy stroll down streets that smell like grilled souvlaki and coffee. You know what really got me though? The studio itself feels like someone who actually lives in Athens designed it, not some corporate hotel chain. The space is thoughtfully laid out – and I say this as someone who’s been crammed into “cozy” European accommodations that felt more like expensive closets. There’s actual room to spread out your stuff, decent lighting for getting ready (crucial if you’re planning those sunset Acropolis photos), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works. The 4-star rating feels right; it’s polished without being stuffy.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, considering you’re literally in the heart of everything. I was expecting to hear every tourist stumbling back from dinner in Plaka, but the windows must be pretty solid because I slept through the night without issue. Mornings are lovely too – there’s something about the way the light hits the nearby buildings that makes you remember why people have been living in this neighborhood for literally thousands of years. The 8.0 rating makes total sense when you factor in that you’re paying for location as much as amenities, and honestly, being able to walk to the National Gardens for a morning jog or hitting up that amazing little bakery near Ermou Street (you’ll find it, trust me) without dealing with metro transfers or taxis is worth quite a bit. I’d definitely book this again, especially if you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re staying in Athens rather than just visiting it.

  Great locatoion, walk to everything. There a shop just down the street "The Bakery" that has excellent baked goods for breakfast. The Babka and cinnamon roll were delicious. Lots of restaurants really close by. Easy access to Syntagma square subway. Get on that and then go straight to the airport. Elevator in building – didn't have to carry up heavy luggage. Rooftop access has 2 nice lounge chairs to lay back and look at the stars. Table and chairs also on rooftop. Washer and dryer in the basement and complimentary laundry detergent was an added bonus.
  
  What could be improved: Didn't know the trash removal process. Maybe leave a note in the apartment and encourage renters to recycle when they can. Show a map of where it is – a bit of a walk, but if we knew early on, we would have done recycling and dropped off items as we headed out for the day.

  This was the second time we stayed here because it’s really the best option in Athens. Location, facilities, staff… all is excellent. You can walk to everywhere in Athens and the room is modern and clean and comfortable. The only thing -what everyone mentioned- is that it has a tiny bathroom. But it wasn’t a problem even when I was with my 4 year old daughter. It was sometimes noisy (because it’s in the center of everything) but we weren’t disturbed at all.
  
  And, last time (Jun’23) we were self checked in but this time someone welcomed us. I think the owners had changed but the same hospitality.
  
  What could be improved: It isn’t something I don’t like but I was surprised a bit. We have stayed almost hundreds of different hotels/airbnbs…etc and it was the first time I was asked to wash, dry and put away the dishes I used and bring the trash to the outside trash bins. The garbage thing is acceptable somehow but washing the dishes (which I couldn’t do it anyway because I had no time)…

  Location was fantastic walking distance to everywhere and run in the heart of Athens. Spacious and nicely decorated with a little balcony and a roof terrace a couple of floors up. The beds were super comfortable and the kitchen quite well equipped. Communication was excellent and we were shown around the apartment when we arrived great. A great place to stay in Athens.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment was a little bit noisy at night, but then this is the centre of a capital city, I was fine with earplugs

  Great room with beautiful balconies. The bathroom is tiny however and the shower is really small and hard to get in and out of. Good location in Plaka and a 5 minute walk to Monastriki square
