Minimal apartment in Plaka Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first booked the Minimal apartment in Plaka, I wasn’t sure what to expect from the name. But you know what? Sometimes the simplest places end up being exactly what you need. This little gem sits right in the heart of Plaka, and I mean literally in the thick of it all. You’re basically living like a local in one of Athens‘ most charming neighborhoods, where narrow cobblestone streets wind between neoclassical buildings and every corner seems to hide another tiny taverna.
The apartment itself lives up to its minimal promise – clean lines, uncluttered spaces, and honestly, it’s kind of refreshing after staying in overly decorated places. The 4-star rating makes perfect sense when you experience it firsthand. Everything works (which, let me tell you, isn’t always a given in older Athens buildings), the Wi-Fi is solid, and there’s this lovely natural light that filters in during the day. I actually found myself just sitting by the window in the mornings, watching the neighborhood wake up – vendors setting up their stalls, locals heading to work, tourists already wandering around with their maps out by 9 AM. The space feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together, if that makes sense.
What really sold me on this place, though, was stepping outside. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the Ancient Agora – I mean, you can practically feel the history seeping through the streets. The Acropolis looms above you (in the best possible way), and when you want dinner, forget about tourist traps. There’s this little psistaria just around the corner where the owner, Dimitris, will remember your order by the third night. The morning bakery smell drifts up to the apartment windows, and honestly, it’s better than any alarm clock. Sure, it can get a bit noisy during peak summer evenings when the restaurant terraces fill up, but that’s part of the Plaka experience – the sounds of people enjoying life, clinking glasses, speaking a dozen different languages. The 9.2 rating definitely reflects what you get here: authenticity without sacrificing comfort, location without the premium hotel price tag, and that rare feeling of actually living somewhere rather than just passing through.
Exploring Athens offers visitors an unforgettable journey through the birthplace of democracy, from its iconic Parthenon to its vibrant neighborhoods and world-renowned archaeological treasures.

Great location, close to all the main tourist attractions in Athens. Lovely clean apartment with modern facilities.
What could be improved: The air con is very noisy but otherwise works well. There is a restaurant below the apartment which was a bit noisy at night.Alexandre from United States – 10 June 2024 (9/10)
It was my 5th time in Athens and location excellent as well as comfortable and check in/out very practical. Host was easy to contact. Great shower and comfortable bed, AC too. Although on vacation I had couple issues from work to resolve and the desk and wifi were in hand and helpful, def a plus.
What could be improved: A table to have a quick bite (breakfast for example) would be a great addition as we ended up having coffee and quick bfast on the couch and turned out a bit messy. We didn t use the stove but a few more items may be helpful. Like a bread knife and couple more glasses and a skillet and hand soap in the bathroom, though I travel with my own but it could add to comfort. Again none of this is really negative but it def adds if arranged.Chris from Canada – 9 May 2024 (9/10)

Apartment very well located in the heart of Plaka, with all the advantages of being in the centre and not noisy even being very close to bars and events. All tourist attractions from the city and restaurants are reachable on foot.
