NOOS Acropolis Overview
You know what struck me first about NOOS Acropolis? It’s one of those places where you can actually feel the weight of history around you – I mean, you’re literally in the shadow of the Acropolis here. When I stepped out onto my balcony that first morning, there it was, this ancient marvel just sitting there like it’s no big deal. The hotel itself has this modern, clean vibe that honestly feels like a breath of fresh air after wandering through Athens‘ more chaotic neighborhoods.
The location is pretty brilliant, actually. You’re close enough to all the major sites that you can walk everywhere (trust me, your feet will thank you for not dealing with Athens traffic), but far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t be kept awake by street performers and late-night revelers. I found myself taking these lovely evening strolls through the Plaka area – it’s just a few minutes away and feels like stepping into a postcard. The staff here genuinely seems to know their stuff too; the front desk guy gave me this insider tip about the best time to visit the Acropolis Museum (early afternoon on weekdays, if you’re wondering) and steered me away from some obvious tourist traps nearby.
What I really appreciated was how the hotel manages to feel both polished and unpretentious. The rooms are sleek without being sterile – sort of that Scandinavian-meets-Mediterranean thing that works really well. The air conditioning actually works (which, let me tell you, is not always a given in Athens), and the WiFi is solid throughout the building. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything just works the way it should. The breakfast spread was surprisingly good too – local cheeses, proper Greek yogurt, fresh fruit that actually tastes like something. Sure, it’s a 4-star place so you’re not getting marble bathrooms and turndown service, but honestly? Sometimes that just means fewer pretentious touches and more focus on the basics done well. My only minor gripe was that the elevators are a bit slow, but when you’re this close to everything worth seeing in ancient Athens, you’ll probably be walking most places anyway.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Athens through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s ancient heritage and modern attractions.

Location is excellent, and the rooms are well appointed. They provide unlimited free water and tea and coffee for your room. The rooftop terrace has good views of the Acropolis. The staff is kind and very helpful.
What could be improved: The rooftop terrace is just a terrace, there’s no bar/restaurant.
The street the hotel is on is well located but much of it is currently under construction.Tunc from Turkey – 25 May 2025 (8/10)
Very well located and friendly staff.
What could be improved: A very big refurbishment is going on at the building next door. Works start very very early in the morning, so consider that while booking.Ruth from Australia – 23 May 2025 (8/10)

The NOOS is probably more of a Boutique hotel. It’s Located in the PLAKA district (old part) right in the heart of Athens. Restaurants, tavernas on every street corner. A magical quality particularly at night. Restaurants all illuminated with fairy lights. The waiters and waitresses are all fluent in English and their attentiveness to their customers is second to none. In truth, outstanding. Food and drink is so affordable regardless of where you choose.
The hotel NOOS doesn’t have any grand bars and foyers, it’s designed for tourists coming to visit Athens and provides the loveliest location, utter comfort and an excellent breakfast. The 2 receptionists were so welcoming and anything we asked for was provided immediately. This morning before our taxi came to take us to the airport. We were given ice cold water to take with us.
It’s highly unlikely that we’ll be back in Athens again as getting far too old but we’d certainly stay at the NOOS again if we did.
There’s a super rooftop terrace with stunning views of the Acropolis.
We had the most magical time in the beautiful city of Athens and couldn’t have asked for a more comfortable bedroom to rest at the end of the day.
So glad we went.
What could be improved: Absolutely nothing.
