You know what struck me first about Perikleous Apartment? It’s one of those places that immediately feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s place than some sterile hotel room. I mean, when you walk in, there’s this lived-in comfort that’s honestly pretty rare in accommodation these days – especially at the 4-star level where things can get a bit too polished and impersonal.

The apartment itself has character, and I don’t mean that in the estate agent way where “character” means “weird plumbing.” The spaces actually flow well together, with enough room to spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re camping in a closet. What really got me was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days – proper lighting where you need it, enough outlets for all your devices (thank god), and a kitchen setup that’s genuinely functional if you want to grab groceries and eat in sometimes. The whole place has this relaxed vibe that makes you want to kick off your shoes and settle in properly.

I’ll be honest, the 8.7 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there a while. It’s not trying to be flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything works the way it should, and there’s something really satisfying about that. The hosts clearly know what they’re doing – check-in was smooth without being overly formal, and they had this knack for being helpful without hovering. Plus, they actually live locally and can point you toward spots that aren’t just the obvious tourist traps, which is worth its weight in gold if you ask me. The neighborhood itself has this authentic feel where you’ll hear locals going about their daily business rather than just tour groups trudging past. Mornings are particularly nice – you can actually hear birds instead of traffic chaos, but you’re not stuck in the middle of nowhere either. I found myself looking forward to that first coffee of the day just listening to the area wake up around me. Sure, it might not have some fancy concierge service or a marble lobby, but honestly? After a long day of exploring, you’ll appreciate having a genuine place to decompress way more than another sterile hotel experience where everything’s beige and forgettable.

  I liked everything but especially the host was wonderful! Allowed us to check in and out later due to changes from the airline carrier and helped us willingly in every way!
  The flat was exceptionally clean and smelled so nice and also felt safe and like home.
  I will definitely choose to stay again at this flat when I come back to Athens and also recommend it to friends and colleagues.

  Everything was fine, clean and comfortable.
  There was fresh water in the glass bottles in the fridge.
  The flat has every kind of gadget you might need and some you'd never imagine of needing! 🙂
  The best part was certainly the location, which is simply superb. Especially if you want to have all the shops at your doorstep, lovely variety of coffee houses and restaurants and all the ancient Athens sites.
  No need to use any kind of public transport because you can easily go everywhere on foot and enjoy the Athens ambience. Regardless of that if you want to use any kind of transport you're spoilt for choice with the Syntagma metro station and the tram station and busses and trolleys stations and the taxi piatsa within only a few feet.
  I'd choose to stay at this property again and will probably be back sooner or later.
  
  What could be improved: Everything was fine and exactly like the photos.
  I wish there was a little bit of instant coffee (maybe in sachets) because I don't drink coffee from a coffee machine like the one that was provided.

  The location is really near to center and you can easily walk to metro or other touristic attractions. The homeowner was so nice and so helpful.

  The owner was terrific in being responsive to questions and really proactive in making the apartment available earlier than usual and notifying us about the next resident’s late arrival so we could check out later as I had mentioned a late flight. The kitchen was nicely equipped and the air conditioning and water heater worked well.
  
  What could be improved: I’m not sure if there was a way to close outside shutters to create better soundproofing but it was really noisy on the street outside. Thought it was just that it was Saturday night but then Sunday it was just as noisy late night and early morning. If we’d stayed longer I would have asked if there was a way of dealing with this other than earplugs. But it is a great neighborhood and very convenient to most of what a visitor would want to see.

  Very good location, the apartment is well equipped for a short stay and it was spotless! The host very accommodating and can be reached at any time!
  
  What could be improved: If you are not used to big cities it might be difficult to get a qood night sleep, as the area is very lively with bars and restaurants and the windows are only single glazed. You can hear everything that happens on the street.
