Plato’s Square Apartments Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Plato’s Square Apartments? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – there’s this charming little square right outside where locals gather in the evenings, and it has that whole philosophical, laid-back Athens vibe going on. I mean, it’s not pretentious or anything, just… thoughtful, I guess? The building itself has this modern four-star polish but doesn’t feel sterile like some of these newer places do.
What really sold me on this place was how the apartments are set up – they’re proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a tiny kitchenette shoved in the corner. The living spaces actually breathe, and you can tell someone put thought into the layout instead of just cramming in as many units as possible. The kitchens are honestly better equipped than my apartment back home (which isn’t saying much, but still). I spent most mornings making Greek coffee on the balcony, watching the neighborhood wake up – there’s something about the way the light hits the buildings around 7 AM that makes you understand why people fall in love with this city. The WiFi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to work remotely or just need to figure out which metro line gets you to the Acropolis without dying in the heat.
Here’s the thing though – the location is what makes this place special, even if the address seems a bit vague online. You’re tucked into this residential pocket that feels authentically Athenian, but you can still walk to the main tourist stuff without your feet falling off. I found this little bakery two blocks down that opens at 6 AM and does these incredible spanakopita that cost basically nothing. The apartment building gets surprisingly quiet at night considering you’re in the middle of a major city – I guess the square acts like a buffer zone or something. Check-in was smooth, though the lobby isn’t much to look at honestly. But who cares about marble floors when you’ve got that 8.2 rating and apartments that actually feel like temporary homes? The only minor complaint I’d have is that some of the elevator buttons stick, but that’s the kind of detail that somehow makes a place feel more real, you know? If you’re the type who wants to live like a local for a few days instead of feeling like you’re camping in a hotel room, this is your spot.

Great location, bedroom is spacious, clean. There is a 2m2 small outside area only accesible for us, was nice (I read reviews that is was not very nice but I guess it is fixed, see picture all good). It is quiet, no noise from neighbours. Bathroom door closes normal. There is aircon.

The location was ideal, you walk out right onto the lively streets of Plaka. The host was very nice, welcomed us in person despite our late arrival, and recommended lots of great locations in the area. The flat is equipped with a hairdryer, showering amenities, towels, and even an iron.
