Polymnia & Melpomene by Heloni Apartments Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Polymnia & Melpomene by Heloni Apartments, I thought someone was testing my pronunciation skills. But you know what? Those Greek muse names actually make perfect sense once you experience this place. It’s got this artistic, cultured vibe that feels intentional rather than pretentious, if that makes sense.

What really struck me about these apartments is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between hotel service and apartment independence. The units themselves feel genuinely livable – I mean, you’ve got proper kitchens with decent-sized fridges (not those hotel mini-things), and the living spaces actually invite you to spread out and relax. The furnishings have this modern Mediterranean thing going on, lots of clean whites and blues, but nothing feels sterile or overly styled. I spent most evenings on the balcony with a glass of wine, watching the neighborhood come alive below – there’s something really authentic about the rhythm of daily life you can observe from there.

The staff here genuinely seems to care, which honestly surprised me a bit for an apartment-style place. Check-in was smooth (they actually remembered my name the next day), and when I mentioned I was trying to find good local tavernas, the front desk guy – Nikos, I think – drew me a little hand-sketched map with his personal recommendations. That 8.9 rating starts making sense when you experience these kinds of touches. The location works really well too, though you’ll want to be prepared for a bit of a walk if you’re planning to explore on foot daily. It’s residential enough that you feel like you’re living somewhere real, not just passing through a tourist bubble, but close enough to the action that a short taxi ride or pleasant stroll gets you where you need to be. Parking was surprisingly manageable – there’s a small lot, and street parking isn’t the nightmare I’d expected. The mornings are beautifully quiet, actually. You wake up to neighborhood sounds rather than traffic chaos, which made my coffee routine on that little balcony something I genuinely looked forward to each day.

Reviews of Polymnia & Melpomene by Heloni Apartments

  • Stalker from Australia (9/10)

Roof top gave you the most sensational views of the Acropolis

  • Anna from Canada (9/10)

Lots of food provided for us to make our own breakfast.
Within walking distance ( 10 minutes) from the Acropolis and all the main sights.
    Good restaurants very close.

  • Paul from United Kingdom (9/10)

The apartment was better than expected from the pictures, it was spotless with 2 lovely bedrooms with en suite bathrooms with large walk in showers. The huge beds had crisp sheets and comfortable pillows. There was an additional separate toilet off the lounge. The Kitchen was compact but more than adequate with everything appearing to be brand new. Tucked behind a door was a washing machine with everything provided if needed. The location was perfect, a short walk to the Acropolis. There was a fantastic roof garden with great views and in the evening when the Acropolis was lit up along with the Odeon of Herodes Atticus you had the added benefit of being able to hear the concert. The food in the fridge was more than we needed but there is a mini market just down the street opposite if you need anything else. A bar next door is also handy if you’ve had a long journey.

  • Dean from Canada (9/10)

Stayed 4 nights and found the property very clean, fridge well stocked for breakfasts, lovely bathroom including clothes washer, and a fabulous view from the rooftop looking at the Acropolis. The location is excellent! Close to the Metro if using to/from the airport or ferries.

Absolutely everything! Location was amazing. Roof terrace with one of the very best views of the Acropolis. Was central to Plaka bars and restaurants and we could walk to all of Athens major sites. High quality furniture and breakfast was varied and plentiful!

  • Sudhi from United Kingdom (8/10)

The location is great. The Acropolis, acropolis museum, temple of Zeus are all a few minutes walk. The stop for all hop on hop off buses is a few minutes walk too. The lovely market starts from where the museum is, and is again a few minutes walk.
