Sir Athens Overview
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked into Sir Athens – honestly, the name made me think it might be one of those overly stuffy places that takes itself too seriously. But this 4-star spot completely changed my mind within about five minutes of being there.
The thing that hits you right away is how they’ve managed to blend this really cool contemporary vibe with subtle nods to Greek culture without going overboard with the whole “look, we’re in Athens!” thing that some hotels do. The lobby has this gorgeous terrazzo flooring that actually reminds you of ancient marble, but in a modern way that doesn’t feel like a theme park. And the staff – I mean, they’re genuinely helpful without being hovering-over-you annoying. The guy at check-in actually gave me solid recommendations for places to eat that weren’t just the usual tourist traps, which honestly made my whole trip better.
What really sold me on this place though was the attention to details that actually matter when you’re traveling. The rooms are designed by people who clearly understand that you need proper lighting for getting ready (not just mood lighting), and there are enough outlets placed in logical spots so you’re not crawling under desks to charge your phone. The beds are seriously comfortable – I’m talking that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough but don’t feel like you’re drowning in softness. The bathrooms have those rainfall showerheads that actually have good pressure, which you’d be surprised how rare that is. And here’s something I really appreciated – the air conditioning is quiet. Like, properly quiet, not that rattling-all-night situation you sometimes get.
The location is pretty smart too, though you’ll want to know that it’s not right in the absolute center of the chaos. It’s positioned so you can actually walk to the main sites without feeling like you’re trapped in the middle of a street festival every time you step outside. I found myself walking to different neighborhoods pretty easily, and there’s this great little coffee spot about two blocks away that becomes your morning ritual if you’re there for more than a couple days. Parking isn’t really an issue since most people are walking or using public transport anyway, but if you’re driving, just know that Athens traffic is… well, it’s Athens traffic.
With an 8.8 rating, Sir Athens is clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in the city, but it nails the fundamentals while adding just enough character to make you remember it fondly. The kind of place where you’re comfortable bringing your parents or impressing a date, but also won’t make you feel underdressed if you roll in after a long day of sightseeing looking a bit rough around the edges.

All basic facilities are included. Very comfortable bed.
Paul from Netherlands (9/10)
Great location in better neighbourhood from Athens, with less tourists as in the city center. Still close enough to walk to city center ( or Metro close by) Nice building with lovely decorated rooms ( actually it is a full floor)
Ann from United States of America (9/10)
The staff was extremely helpful and responsive. The breakfast was good. The hotel has a nice modern vibe. The location is well situated to get around without being in the heart of the tourist district.
Natasha from Netherlands (9/10)
Fantastic experience at Sir Athens – the team there are so helpful from the moment you book right up until after you have left. The facilities and room was really incredible for the price — we didn’t expect it to be as nice and big as it was! The location is great – very central and you can walk everywhere. We will be back to Athens again soon and plan to book the exact same room again. Thank you to your team for a great stay!

A small and charming boutique hotel, in a quiet area compared to the hustle and bustle of Athens, we stayed for two weekends, when on the second weekend we were upgraded to a suite with a balcony and a hot tub in the hotel next door. The room we stayed in at the beginning of the holiday (3-star hotel) has small shortcomings (bathroom without any shelf, very small sink, mini bar that partially refrigerates…), but still the level is higher than average. The upgraded room is just perfect, with a large bathroom for a couple, a high ceiling, an excellent refrigerator and all the amenities of a 5-star hotel, except for an elevator that is missing because the building is historic and has been kept that way. The 2 hotels are great and we would love to stay in them again!

We arrived at Sir Athens and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to a partner hotel around the corner (Athens Flair). It was beautiful and staff were very helpful and accommodating.
Kate from Australia (8/10)
Lovely room, clean and well presented. Communication with the staff is via WhatsApp, but they were super attentive and quick to reply with any questions I had. Breakfast at their nearby sister hotel was also delicious.

Location, design, quiteness
Martin from United Kingdom (9/10)
We were given an excellent choice of breakfast and we ate on the roof top terrace of a nearby hotel, part of the same hotel. I loved the neighbourhood, with local residents spilling out into the small streets and so close to a host of authentic Greek restaurants.

Normal shape from outside but extremely beautiful and comfortable with very nice decor inside the rooms
