You know what really struck me about Sm Athens when I first walked through those doors? It’s one of those places that gets the balance just right – polished enough that you feel like you’re staying somewhere special, but not so fancy that you’re afraid to actually use the amenities. The lobby has this warm, contemporary vibe that immediately made me think “okay, these people know what they’re doing.”

What I love about this place is how it sits in the city – you’re genuinely connected to Athens without being stuck in the middle of all the tourist chaos. I mean, you can actually get around easily from here, and honestly, that’s half the battle in a city like this. The staff seems to really know their stuff too, which is something you notice pretty quickly when you start asking about getting to places that aren’t just the obvious tourist spots. They’ve got that local knowledge thing down, and they’re not just reciting from some script. The rooms themselves? Well, they’re what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – comfortable beds (seriously, I slept better than I do at home), decent space to spread out your stuff, and bathrooms that actually work properly. Sometimes it’s the simple things, you know?

I’ve stayed in a lot of places around this price range, and Sm Athens really delivers on that whole “you get what you pay for” thing – maybe even a bit more. The 8.7 rating makes sense when you’re actually there; it’s not perfect, but the things they do well, they do really well. Breakfast was better than I expected, and the WiFi actually works throughout the building, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy in 2024 but somehow still is. What I appreciated most was that the place has its own personality – it’s not trying to be some generic international hotel experience. There’s something distinctly Greek about how they run things, but in the best way possible. If you’re looking for a place where you can settle in for a few days and actually feel comfortable, rather than just impressed, this is your spot. Plus, and this is important – the neighborhood doesn’t get crazy loud at night, so you can actually sleep with the windows open if you want some fresh air.

  The location was spot on, everything was just within a few minutes walk. When you’ve only got a short time in a destination the location is really important.

  The position, the nice furniture and the fact that the apartment was well equipped and very clean. The hosts were also easily reachable.
  
  What could be improved: The shower drain was outside the shower, which caused the bathroom’s floor to be wet any time we took a shower.

  Perfect location and great apartment with everything we needed. Good communication with hosts.
  
  What could be improved: Collecting the keys from a lock box situated across the street, attached to a railing was a bit odd – but it worked fine. One window in the bedroom didn't have a blind/shutter and unfortunately a bright light shone through the window all night – right on to the bed.

  The apartment was spacious, comfy and nicely furnished/decorated. The bed was very comfortable.

  Location was excellent. Property was clean and cozy, with cute interior.
  
  What could be improved: The water in a shower took a long time to get warm, and it was enough for only one person to shower. We had to shower in a cool water a few times.

  Perfect location for a great price. Easy short walk to Plaka and Acropolis. Safe area. Bathroom a little odd with water drain in front of toilet but no big deal. Would stay here again.

  The place is really close to the central part of Athens, which is commutable to almost all of the scenic spots you may wish to go. The owners are also super attentive and everything was just perfect.
