STARLA STUDIOS Overview
You know what caught me off guard about STARLA STUDIOS? The name made me expect some sort of trendy, industrial-chic place with exposed brick and overly curated decor, but honestly, it’s way more approachable than that. When I first walked in, I actually felt like I could relax – which doesn’t always happen at boutique properties where you’re afraid to touch anything.
The studio setup is really well thought out, and I mean that in a practical way, not just aesthetically. Each unit feels like someone actually considered how you’d live in the space for more than just one night. The kitchenettes aren’t just for show – there’s actual counter space to work with, and the refrigerator is full-sized, not one of those tiny hotel fridges that barely fits a water bottle. The lighting is something I noticed right away because you can actually see what you’re doing (I’ve stayed in too many places where they prioritize mood lighting over functionality). There are these great floor-to-ceiling windows that let in tons of natural light during the day, though you’ll want to close the blackout curtains if you’re sensitive to street noise in the morning.
What really sells this place for me is the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere, even temporarily. The Wi-Fi is fast enough that I could work from the room without wanting to throw my laptop out the window – always a good sign. The beds are comfortable without being so soft you sink into oblivion, and there’s enough storage space that you’re not living out of your suitcase the entire time. I appreciated that they included things like proper hangers (not those security ones that don’t actually work for anything) and enough outlets near the bed for charging devices. The bathroom setup is smart too – good water pressure, and the shower actually has a door instead of one of those curtains that never quite closes properly. Little things, but they add up when you’re trying to get ready in the morning. The 9.0 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there a few days – it’s one of those places that just works without making a big show of itself.
Best hotels in Athens range from charming boutique properties in the historic Plaka district to elegant rooftop hotels with stunning views of the Acropolis and Parthenon.
