Look, I’ll be straight with you – when I first walked into the Syntagma Square, 60sqm Platinum suite, I actually did a little double-take. This isn’t your typical cramped European hotel room where you’re bumping elbows with your luggage. We’re talking 60 square meters of actual space, which honestly felt almost luxurious after spending weeks in tiny Airbnbs around the city.

The location is what really got me though. I mean, you’re literally steps from Syntagma Square – and I don’t mean that in the marketing “just a short walk” way, I mean you can practically see the fountain from your window. The metro entrance is right there (super convenient when you’ve got heavy bags), and you know what? The noise level wasn’t nearly as bad as I expected. Sure, you’ll hear some street activity during the day, but it dies down pretty nicely in the evenings. The suite itself has this modern feel without being sterile – comfortable furniture you’d actually want to sit on, a kitchen area that’s functional enough to make coffee or heat up some of those amazing souvlaki leftovers, and a bathroom with decent water pressure (trust me, this matters more than you think when you’re walking around Athens all day).

What I really appreciated was how the place strikes that balance between being upscale without feeling pretentious. The 9.2 rating makes sense once you’re there – it’s the kind of place where small details are handled well. The air conditioning actually works (crucial in summer), there’s enough closet space for longer stays, and the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like some places I’ve stayed. Plus, being right in Syntagma means you’re within walking distance of Plaka’s winding streets, the Ancient Agora, and honestly some of the best restaurants that aren’t completely overrun with tourists. I found myself grabbing morning coffee from this little place around the corner that locals actually go to – you know, where the barista remembers your order after the second day. The four-star rating feels about right; it’s polished and comfortable without trying to be something it’s not. If you’re planning to spend your days exploring the city and want a solid, spacious base to come back to, this suite delivers on that promise without any weird surprises or disappointments.

  The location was superb. All the main places to visit were within 15 minute walk (max). A very clean and comfortable apartment which met our needs for a place to rest during the day (because of the heat) and spacious in the evening for kids to have their own space. 2 bedrooms, each with their own smart tv (a third in the main room) which kept the kids entertained. A small fridge with some crockery and cutlery make for a great option to have your own food if you choose. A fresh set of towels were provided when requested

  The location is fantastic – everything within in a 10-15 minute walk. Air conditioning in both bedrooms, but not in the living room. TV in both bedrooms and the living room. Two bathrooms, each with shower. Two couples could very comfortably stay here. There is a bakery just around the corner, several grocery stores (organic and regular) very nearby. Two doors down (5 meters) is a little place that can store your luggage for a small fee. The host greeted us on arrival. It was easy to take the metro from the airport to Syntagma Square, and then walk a few short blocks to the apartment. Comfy beds, softer than what seems to be the traditional Greek style.

  Die Lage der Unterkunft war sehr zentral, was die Anreise/Abreise und die Besichtigungen erleichtert hat. Die Sauberkeit der Räume war durchweg positiv, und die Betten waren bequem. Praktisch war auch die Nähe zu mehreren Bäckereien. Außerdem gab es in der Umgebung zahlreiche Lokale. Für Reisende, die bei der Abreise einen Spätflug haben, gibt es in der Nähe eine Kofferaufbewahrung.
