I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Urban Suites. The name sounds pretty generic, right? But man, sometimes you get pleasantly surprised. This 4-star spot has that rare quality where everything just works without trying too hard to impress you.

The lobby hits you with this warm, lived-in elegance that actually feels genuine. You know how some hotels go overboard with the marble and gold everything? Not here. The furniture looks like stuff you’d want in your own apartment, and the front desk staff – well, they actually seem to enjoy their jobs. Check-in was refreshingly quick, no upselling nonsense or lengthy explanations about amenities I didn’t ask about. The woman behind the counter even mentioned a good coffee spot around the corner that “locals don’t really know about yet” – and she was right, it became my morning routine.

What really sold me on this place, though, were the suites themselves. The space feels thoughtfully designed, like someone actually considered how real people use hotel rooms. The kitchenette isn’t just for show – decent-sized fridge, proper counter space, and they stock it with actual glassware instead of those flimsy plastic cups. The bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that actually has water pressure (you know the disappointment when they don’t). I mean, the bed was comfortable enough that I considered asking where they got their pillows, which is saying something for someone who’s picky about sleep. The soundproofing surprised me too – even with street-facing windows, the city noise stays where it belongs.

Here’s the thing that bumps this place up from good to really good: the details nobody thinks to mention. The WiFi actually works throughout the entire suite, not just near the router. Housekeeping is thorough but not intrusive – they somehow manage to clean around your stuff without making you feel like you need to pack everything away. The elevator never kept me waiting more than thirty seconds, which sounds trivial until you’re staying somewhere with one slow elevator and ten floors. And honestly? The 9.3 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not flashy enough to be a 10, but there’s literally nothing to complain about either.

If you’re the type who needs a rooftop pool and a concierge in a fancy uniform, this probably isn’t your scene. But if you want a place that feels more like a really nice temporary apartment than a hotel room – where you can actually spread out, maybe cook breakfast instead of paying $18 for hotel eggs, and sleep well without hearing your neighbors’ TV – then Urban Suites gets it right. I’ve stayed in plenty of places that cost twice as much and delivered half the comfort. Sometimes the best recommendation is simply this: I’d book it again without hesitation.

  Absolutely loved the suite. Spacious, modern design, fresh and clean. The staff were so helpful in answering all of our questions, sharing recommendations and helping us with a few supplies we needed mid-stay. Would recommend to anyone, solo traveler, family or couple. There’s a beautiful beach across the street that we spent time at as well and a great beach restaurant (Nalū) a bit on the pricier end, but delicious food and great atmosphere.
