The thing about this place is that it completely gets the balance between boutique charm and actual functionality. My room had this interesting mix of exposed brick and modern fixtures, and while the bathroom was compact (let’s be real, most city hotels are), the rainfall shower was honestly one of the better ones I’ve experienced. The beds are proper comfortable too — none of that rock-hard mattress situation you sometimes get at trendy places. What really impressed me was the attention to small details: decent lighting for reading, enough outlets positioned where you actually need them, and blackout curtains that actually block out light. The 9.4 rating makes total sense when you experience how they’ve thought through the practical stuff alongside the design elements.

Location-wise, you’re in one of those neighborhoods that locals love but tourists haven’t completely overtaken yet. There’s this great coffee roastery about two blocks away that opens early (perfect for jet lag recovery), and you’ll find yourself walking past these little galleries and shops that change regularly. The staff here actually knows the area well — when I asked about dinner recommendations, the front desk person didn’t just hand me a generic list but asked what I was in the mood for and suggested this incredible small plates place that I never would’ve found otherwise. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving (street parking fills up fast in the evenings), but honestly, you’re better off exploring on foot anyway. The check-in process was refreshingly quick, and they were flexible about an early check-in when my flight arrived ahead of schedule. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without the pretentious attitude that sometimes comes with four-star boutique hotels.
