You know what really surprised me about Venias Two-Bedroom apartment Kallimarmaro and Zappeio area? It’s tucked into this incredibly green pocket of Athens that honestly feels more like a residential neighborhood than the touristy chaos you’d expect. I mean, you’re literally a stone’s throw from the Panathenaic Stadium – the marble one where they held the first modern Olympics – and somehow it doesn’t feel overrun with tour groups.

The apartment itself is actually quite spacious, which is saying something for Athens. Two proper bedrooms that can comfortably fit real luggage (not just those tiny European rolling bags), and the living area has this lived-in feel that makes you want to grab coffee from the corner kafeneio and just settle in for a while. The kitchen‘s got everything you need if you hit up the little market on Vasilissis Sofias – though honestly, with all the tavernas around Zappeio Gardens, you might not cook much. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, especially considering you’re so close to the National Gardens. There’s something about those tree-lined streets that just absorbs the city noise, and you’ll actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic.

The location thing is kind of genius when you think about it. Sure, you’re not right in Plaka with all the postcard views, but you’re in this spot where actual Athenians live and work. You can walk to Syntagma Square in about fifteen minutes – I timed it – but you’re also right there for morning jogs around the National Gardens or evening strolls through Zappeio Park when the locals come out with their kids and dogs. The metro’s close enough that you don’t need taxis everywhere, and parking (if you’re brave enough to drive in Athens) is actually possible on these side streets. I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and honestly, the whole area felt like this perfect balance between being in the city but not overwhelmed by it. The 9.4 rating makes total sense – it’s one of those places where everything just works without being fancy about it.

  It was such a comfortable and lovely place to stay. Especially the beds were clean and comfortable, so I fell asleep as soon as I laid down. The host answered very quickly and was very kind. There are many delicious coffee shops and restaurants around, and we can walk to tourist attractions. If I come to Athens again next time, I will choose this place again without hesitation.

  It was a wonderful stay in Venia's apartment. The apartment is fully equipped with everything you need for a long stay. The location is central yet quiet, making it a perfect spot. It was easy to reach historical landmarks using public transport stops near the apartment. Venia is a fantastic host who communicates very well and truly strives to make the stay comfortable for her guests. Highly recommended!

  Comfortable and clean, especially well-equipped, homely apartment. The beds were extremely comfortable and the air conditioning was a life saver in the nearly 40 degree heat! It always felt good to come home from the city. Almost all important attractions are nearby, there is also a larger grocery store and many good restaurants nearby. An excellent starting point for exploring the city! And for sports, the Fokianos Sports Park and the National Garden are only a few minutes away. The host was especially kind and helpful, thank you for the quick answers and solutions!
  
  What could be improved: The cleanliness of the apartment was not 100%, although it left nothing to be desired. The kitchen equipment is not the latest, the knives could use a sharpening, but it was a special pleasure to find a lot of spices! Overall, the equipment is really excellent!

  We loved the location of the apartment and found some great local places to eat nearby, Mavros Gatos and Vyrinis were our gems. We walked daily into town past the Panathenaic Stadium, Zappeion Hall and Hadrians Gate. Easy 10 minute walk, even in the 35' heat it was shaded. The botanical gardens and The Greek Presidential Guard or Evzones was close and great to see, even in the heat.

  Great location. Very close to the centre and no unnecessary street noise! There is an elevator to the second floor. The apartment is spacious. Beautiful bedrooms. Very nice bathroom. There is a makeup table with lights. Kitchen has everything you need. The apartment has two terraces with shading, remember to use them during your visit!
  Very responsive hosts! Quick to reply to all messages.
  When we arrived at the apartment, the owners had left a welcome basket with a surprise, which made us very happy!

  Super place. Very big and comfortable. What’s most important bathroom was perfect. Clean, with much space, shower cabin not broken, all equipment in very good condition. Little balcony in both rooms. Family of 5 easily can fit there. 3 min walk to bus service and all hop on/off busses. Owner very friendly, speaking good English and very supportive. Outside little grocery stores and very lovely restaurant where you can grab breakfast or late drink. 100% recommendations.

  Very clean & cozy apartment in a great location near the stadium. Our host was wonderful! Very attentive and lovely person. The building has an elevator and is stroller friendly. Public transportation is right around the corner too. I highly recommend it and would love to stay again!

  Great apartment, well furnished and clean, top quality of bed linen, in a silent and very local/Greek area and close to Panathenaic Stadium.
  15-minutes walk to main square Syntagma and Olympieion.
  The landlord is a lovely lady offering to tenants nice touches as cold water, some fruits/vegetables, biscuits, coffee and more.
  We will definitely rent the flat, if we visit Athene again.
