The room — well, it’s really more like a proper living space — feels thoughtfully designed rather than just functional. You get separate areas for sleeping and lounging, which makes a huge difference when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious, and there’s actually decent water pressure (trust me, this matters after a long day walking around ancient ruins). What I appreciated most was having enough surface space to spread out my stuff without feeling like I’m living out of a suitcase.

Neighborhood Life

Walking around Goudi in the evenings became one of my favorite parts of staying here. There’s this great little taverna about three blocks away where I never saw another tourist, and the owner’s wife makes this incredible moussaka — the kind of place you’d never find if you stayed in Plaka. The metro station is close enough that getting to the Acropolis or Monastiraki takes maybe 20 minutes, but you come back to this peaceful residential area where kids are playing in small parks and elderly Greeks are having their evening coffee. It’s the Athens most visitors never see, and I sort of loved being part of that rhythm.

The parking situation is manageable if you’re driving (which isn’t something you can say about central Athens), and the value is honestly impressive for what you get.   Almost everything. Great apartment, easy check-in/out (key access), spacious, quiet, and very safe – including at night, it's located outside the official center of Athens but the neighborhood is packed with restaurants, bars, bakeries, etc. It's a 10-15 min cab ride (6-8 Euro) from the center so if you've already been to Athens and are not looking to stay smack in the middle of the main attractions – this is a great place to stay in.
