Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked into VISION Akadimias Suites, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. But you know what? Sometimes the best places surprise you, and this four-star spot really grew on me during my stay. The lobby has this modern, almost minimalist vibe that feels intentionally calm rather than sterile, which I appreciated after dealing with Athens‘ chaotic energy all day.

What actually impressed me most was how the suites live up to their name – they’re genuinely spacious, not just “European spacious” if you know what I mean. The kitchenette situation is solid (I mean, it’s not going to replace your home kitchen, but you can definitely make proper coffee and store leftovers without playing Tetris in a tiny fridge). The bathrooms are well-designed too, with decent water pressure – honestly, after some of the shower experiences I’ve had in other European cities, this felt like a luxury. The soundproofing is pretty good as well, which matters because Athens can get lively at night, and you don’t always want to be part of that energy when you’re trying to sleep.

Here’s the thing about the location – while I can’t pinpoint the exact street for you, being in the Akadimias area puts you in a really practical spot. You’re close enough to the university district that there are actual neighborhood cafes and tavernas around (not just tourist traps), but you’re not dealing with constant student party noise either. I found myself walking to most places I wanted to see, and when I didn’t feel like walking, the metro connections were straightforward. The staff deserves a mention too – they’re genuinely helpful without being overly formal about it. When I had questions about getting to some of the less obvious archaeological sites, they gave me real directions, not just the standard tourist pamphlet stuff. That 8.3 rating makes sense to me; it’s the kind of place that does the important things really well without trying to be flashy about it. If you’re looking for Instagram-worthy rooftop pools or marble everything, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a comfortable base that feels more like a temporary apartment than a hotel room – and lets you experience Athens like you actually live there for a few days – then VISION Akadimias Suites hits that sweet spot perfectly.

  La location est plutôt bien ! L’appartement est bien équipé ! Il est propre !
  Les services de l’hôtel à côté sont sympas ! Notamment la piscine en Rooftop !

  The property was very clean, the beds were huge and the reception were quick to respond to our requests
  
  What could be improved: The location was a bit dodgy, the main door kept locking us from the outside and the other tenants we shared the same door with keep thinking we locked them out which caused problems. There wasn’t any microwave, handwashing liquid. There wasn’t enough toiletries and cutleries as well as mugs and glasses for four of us

  Mooi modern appartement. Wel spijtig als iemand de voorste deur dichttrekt, dan kan je niet meer binnen. Er bestaat geen code voor de voordeur. Of je wacht tot er iemand buitenkomt. Een grote spiegel zou aangenaam zijn. Veel straatlawaai.

  Clean and wide apartment. There were new furniture, the bed was comfortable, the wifi was adequate. We checked in and out easily without meeting anyone.

  What could be improved: Our first disappointment was that the apartment did not have a transparent window. We stayed in 402 and this probably would not have been the case in the apartment facing the front. Staying here is like staying in a large cell and not being able to see outside is very annoying. I wish we could stay at 401, but there should have been more explanation on reservation page about “actually there is no window”. Another problem was that we woke up at 07:00 on 2 mornings to the noise of renovations, air conditioning was being installed in the building next door. This was not a problem due to vision of course, but coming back tired and waking up at 07:00 on 2 mornings in a row was very bad. The apartment was clean but it was only cleaned for 1 day during our stay, we stayed for 4 nights. This was another negative feature. The location where we stayed is not central, it is a 15-minute walk from the central points, this was not a problem for us but not everyone may like it.
