I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Voula Riviera Luxury Apartment, I was expecting something a bit pretentious, you know? But this place actually lives up to the “luxury” part without being stuffy about it. Located in Voula (which, if you’re not familiar with the Athens Riviera, is this gorgeous coastal suburb about 20 minutes south of the city center), it’s got that perfect sweet spot between being close enough to explore Athens but far enough to feel like you’re on a proper beach holiday.

The apartment itself is stunning – I mean, really well done. The moment you walk in, there’s this sense that someone actually thought about how people live and move through a space. The kitchen isn’t just for show (thank god), and the living areas have this natural flow that makes you want to leave the balcony doors open and let the sea breeze drift through. Speaking of the balcony, that’s probably where you’ll spend most of your time. The view… well, let’s just say I took about fifty photos trying to capture it and none of them did it justice. You’re looking out over the Saronic Gulf with these layers of blue that shift throughout the day – honestly, it’s the kind of view that makes you understand why people fall in love with Greece.

What really impressed me was the attention to detail. The bed linens are actually good quality (not those scratchy hotel sheets), there’s proper water pressure in the shower, and – this might sound silly but it matters – the WiFi actually works everywhere, even on the balcony. The whole place feels more like staying in a friend’s beautiful home than a rental property. The location is pretty perfect too, if you ask me. You’re walking distance from Voula Beach, which is one of the better organized beaches along this stretch of coast – crystal clear water, decent beach bars, and it doesn’t get absolutely mobbed like some of the spots closer to Glyfada. There’s also this little taverna about five minutes away (I think it’s called Klimataria, though don’t quote me on that) where the locals go for lunch, and honestly, some of the best seafood I had during my entire stay.

The only tiny thing I’d mention is that if you’re planning to explore Athens proper, you’ll want to factor in the transport time. The tram connection is pretty reliable, but it’s not exactly speedy – though I actually came to enjoy that leisurely ride along the coast. And if you’re here during peak summer, well, it gets warm. But that’s what the sea is for, right? The host was incredibly responsive too – answered my messages quickly and even gave me some great recommendations for beaches further down the coast that I never would have found otherwise. With a 9.4 rating, this place has clearly figured out how to make people happy, and after spending time here, I totally get why.

  The property is in a nice and quiet neighborhood, the host is very helpful and available whenever you call him.
