The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there rather than one of those sterile hotel rooms where everything’s bolted down. I mean, there are real books on the shelves, proper coffee cups instead of those tiny hotel ones, and the kitchen actually has sharp knives – little things that matter when you’re trying to feel at home.

What really won me over though was the location itself. Vouliagmeni is this interesting mix of upscale Athenian beach culture and laid-back island vibes, and the apartment sits right in the sweet spot where you can walk to that famous thermal lake (the one that stays warm year-round) in about ten minutes. The locals treat it like their personal spa, which – honestly – it kind of is. You’ll see the same faces there morning after morning, doing their gentle laps in water that feels like a warm bath even in winter. The beach nearby isn’t the pristine white sand you see in travel magazines, but it’s got character, and the tavernas along the waterfront serve some of the best grilled octopus I’ve had outside of the islands. Actually, there’s this one place – I think it’s called Moorings – where the owner will argue with you about which wine pairs best with sea bream, and somehow you’ll end up having the best meal of your trip.

The apartment’s rating of 9.8 makes total sense when you factor in all these details the owner clearly thought through. The shower pressure is actually decent (not always a given in Greece), the air conditioning works without sounding like a jet engine, and there’s proper blackout curtains for those summer mornings when the sun comes up at 5:30. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak season – it’s sort of a free-for-all situation – but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to drive much anyway. Everything you need is walkable, and the bus connections to central Athens are surprisingly reliable. I ended up extending my stay by two nights because leaving felt premature, which tells you something about how this place gets under your skin.

  The location was great, everything is extremely close by walking distance – beaches, shops, restaurants.
  
  What could be improved: What we didn't like was that the apartment itself is next to a boulevard and is extremely noisy most of the day and especially in the evening and at night.

  Nice, roomy and clean apartment/ Wonderful and extremely helpful host. Great location if you are looking for something a bit away from Athens center. It was not our first time in Athens, so it was perfect as a base for exploring areas we hadn't been to in past visits. Highly recommended!

  Very nice and big apartment with modern interior, has everything that you need to live somewhere. It is very cozy and near the beaches and bars and center. We loved it! Owners are very good and easy to communicate with.
  
  What could be improved: It is at the main street so you can hear the cars passing, so we just kept the balcony’s door closed and it was ok.
