Xtina Studio overview

First Impressions

When I first walked into Xtina Studio, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a modest building on Delfon Street. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This four-star property in Marousi has that understated charm that grows on you — it’s not flashy, but everything just works really well together.

Location & Getting Around

Here’s the thing about Marousi that most tourists don’t realize — you’re actually in one of Athens’ most livable neighborhoods, not some tourist trap. The location is genuinely fantastic (guests rate it 9.3, and I get why), especially if you want to experience Athens like locals do. You’ve got the metro nearby, which means you can be in the city center in about 20 minutes, but you’re also close to some excellent tavernas that don’t have English menus — always a good sign. Plus, and this is huge for Greece, there’s parking that’s actually free. I mean, try finding that anywhere near central Athens.

The Studio Experience

The room itself is what I’d call thoughtfully designed rather than fancy. It’s a studio setup, so you get more space than your typical hotel room, and there’s a kitchenette that’s actually functional — not one of those joke setups with a mini-fridge and a prayer. The bed was comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the bathroom had good water pressure, which honestly matters more than marble countertops when you’re traveling. What struck me was how quiet it was at night, despite being in a residential area with actual life happening around it.

The Neighborhood Vibe

Marousi has this interesting mix going on — it’s got business districts, so there are good coffee shops and lunch spots that cater to locals, but it’s also residential enough that you see families walking around in the evenings. There’s a shopping area within walking distance, and I found a great bakery about three blocks away that does these amazing cheese pies for breakfast. The couples who stay here seem to really love it (they rate the location 9.3), and I think it’s because you get that “living in Athens” feeling without the chaos of Plaka or Monastiraki.

Why Guests Love It

Look, this isn’t the kind of place you’ll be posting Instagram stories from the lobby, but it’s the kind of place where everything just works smoothly. The 9.2 rating makes sense when you add it all up — great location that locals actually use, free parking (seriously, this is gold in Athens), and a studio that gives you room to breathe. It’s particularly good if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights, since having that kitchenette space means you can grab groceries and not eat every meal out. Plus, the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood well, which is rarer than you’d think.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Athens through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s ancient heritage and modern attractions.
