I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name Zeus Bright & New Apartment – 25′ walk to the Acropolis, I thought it sounded a bit gimmicky. But you know what? Sometimes the straightforward places surprise you the most. This 4-star spot actually delivers on that promise about the Acropolis walk, and I mean really delivers – none of that “walking distance if you’re training for a marathon” nonsense you get with some Athens hotels.

The apartment itself feels genuinely new, not just “we slapped some paint on the walls and called it renovated” new. Everything’s crisp and clean, from the modern fixtures to the kind of air conditioning that actually works during those brutal August afternoons. I stayed here last spring when the city was just hitting that sweet spot weather-wise, and honestly, the place felt like a little sanctuary after long days wandering around the ancient sites. The windows are properly sealed too – important detail because Athens can get surprisingly noisy, especially if you’re near the main tourist drags. Here though, you’re tucked into more of a residential pocket where actual Athenians live, which I loved.

What really sold me on the place was how the location works in practice. That 25-minute walk to the Acropolis? It’s actually pleasant, winding through neighborhoods where you’ll pass little tavernas that don’t have English menus and old guys playing backgammon at corner cafés. I found myself taking different routes each day just to explore – sometimes cutting through Plaka if I wanted the full tourist experience, other times heading up through the quieter residential streets where you get these amazing glimpses of the Parthenon between buildings. The walk back uphill after a full day of sightseeing isn’t too brutal either, though I’ll admit I grabbed a taxi once or twice when my feet were completely done. There’s a small supermarket about three blocks away that’s perfect for grabbing breakfast stuff and water bottles, and the metro connection isn’t far if you want to venture out to Piraeus or other parts of the city. The 8.8 rating makes total sense to me – it’s one of those places that just works without any drama, delivers exactly what it promises, and leaves you feeling like you made a smart choice rather than falling for some overpriced tourist trap.

  The Zeus Apartment is very nice place to spent time with family in the middle of Athens. It was clean and good equipped. The apartment is located on 4th floor and has a nice view in multiple directions. There is an quite old elevator, maybe it does not look safe but at least works :). The apartment is very bright, you can enjoy the sun starting from early morning. But if you don't like it you can always unfold the awnings. There is a Bus stop right near to the apartments building. You can also reach the city center and Acropol by foot in around 25 minutes. 500m far from the apartment location, there is a bus stop you can reach the see side as well. There is a quite nice playground about 300m far from the apartment location. We spent a very nice time, living in Athens, as Greeks do :), in a nice Zeus apartment.

  •Great location which is walking distance to most popular tourist locations (acropolis), but also a very easy commute to the bus/ metro/ tram services!

  We absolutely loved the amenities book that was made by the host! It showed their favourite local spots and they are now our favourites too!

  Παρά πολύ καλό διαμέρισμα, καθαρό, άνετο με σχεδόν όλες τις ανέσεις.
  
  What could be improved: Από την κουζίνα έλειπε το μπρίκι του ελληνικού καφέ ενώ υπήρχε καφές. Η τηλεόραση είχε πρόβλημα με το σήμα λήψης και δεν έπαιζαν όλα τα κανάλια.

  This apartment was secure, spacious, well equipped and nicely furnished. Easy to get to using the local public transport. It is in a 'local' neighbourhood with a handy supermarket close by.
  
  What could be improved: The communal entrance to the apartment has poor lighting and in the evenings and early morning can be very dark. Unfortunately, like so many locations in Athens, the apartment does suffer from traffic noise especially when the windows are opened.

  The host is very responsive, listens well and provides solutions (like directions, translations, transport arrangements etc.). The host is kind and considerate. The apartment is all that you need to lay down your head and relax after a long day out. Beds are great, shower works well, kitchen is sufficient.
  
  What could be improved: The area in general is typical Athens, but not unsafe or too far off the beaten rack. Close to public transport, groceries & some restaurants.
