Fair warning though – the stairs up can be a bit of a workout if you’re hauling heavy luggage, but honestly, it’s worth every step once you’re up there.

What really struck me was how the location puts you right in the heart of things without the typical tourist chaos. You’re close enough to walk to Monastiraki Flea Market in the morning before the crowds hit, then duck back for an afternoon siesta when the heat gets intense – which, let’s be real, it absolutely will during summer months. The neighborhood has that lived-in Athens feel, with locals chatting outside kafeneia and the occasional motorbike buzzing past, but it never felt unsafe or overwhelming. Parking isn’t really a thing around here (this is central Athens, after all), but the metro connections are solid if you need to venture further out. I actually loved the evening ritual of grabbing a bottle of wine from the corner shop and watching the Acropolis light up after dark – it’s illuminated until midnight, and from this vantage point, you get the whole show. The place might call itself 5-star in the name, but it’s really more of a 4-star experience, which honestly worked perfectly for me since it keeps expectations realistic while still delivering something genuinely memorable.
