99 Adrianou Apartments Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to 99 Adrianou Apartments, you immediately sense you’ve found something special in the heart of Athens. The building sits right on one of the most historic streets in Plaka, and honestly, the location alone makes this four-star property worth considering. I mean, you’re literally steps away from the Ancient Agora and about a five-minute stroll to the Acropolis — it doesn’t get much more central than this. The entrance has that refined European apartment feel, not overly flashy but clearly well-maintained and thoughtfully designed.

The Plaka Advantage

What really struck me about staying here is how you’re positioned perfectly between tourist Athens and authentic neighborhood life. Adrianou Street itself is this wonderful pedestrian walkway lined with traditional tavernas and small shops, but step onto the side streets and you’ll find locals going about their daily routines. The couples who stay here absolutely love it (they rate the location 9.9, which honestly makes perfect sense), because you can wander hand-in-hand through cobblestone alleys in the evening, then grab breakfast at a café where the owner remembers your order by day three. You know what’s great? The Monastiraki Flea Market is just around the corner, and the metro station is close enough to reach easily but far enough that you don’t hear the trains.

The Apartment Experience

The apartments themselves feel more like staying in a well-appointed Athens home than a typical hotel room. Each unit has its own character — some with small balconies where you can actually glimpse the Acropolis if you crane your neck just right, others with these lovely traditional touches like exposed stone or wooden beams. The kitchenettes are actually functional (not just decorative), which comes in handy when you want to store those amazing Greek yogurts from the local market or prepare a simple breakfast before heading out to explore. The bathrooms are modern and well-designed, though space can be a bit tight in some units — but that’s pretty standard for historic Athens properties.

Neighborhood Rhythms

One thing I really appreciated is how the area comes alive at different times of day. Mornings are quiet and peaceful, perfect for that first coffee on your balcony while planning the day’s adventures. By afternoon, Adrianou Street fills with a mix of visitors and locals, creating this lovely energy without feeling overwhelming. Evenings are magical — the street lighting, the sound of conversations drifting from taverna terraces, and that warm Mediterranean air make even a simple walk feel special. The fact that you can stumble back to your apartment after dinner without worrying about transportation or navigating unfamiliar areas is honestly such a relief.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.9 rating really reflects what you get here — solid, well-located accommodations that let Athens be the star of your stay. You’re not paying for elaborate amenities or room service, but rather for the privilege of living temporarily in one of the city’s most atmospheric neighborhoods. The property management clearly understands their role: provide comfortable, clean apartments in an unbeatable location, then let the magic of Plaka and ancient Athens do the rest. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little Athens pied-à-terre, complete with the freedom to come and go as you please while being surrounded by 2,500 years of history.

Reviews of 99 Adrianou Apartments

  • Miriam from United States of America (9/10)

Even though it was located in the midst of a busy tourist area, the suite itself was completely quiet so we could enjoy the view of the Acropolis from our window and the access to shopping, dining, and strolling around the foot of the Acropolis and the proximity of Monastiraki. The suite was spacious and easily accessible and the staff was available by WhatsApp or their nearby office.

Great location. Within walking distance of all the major historical sites like Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Roman Agora, Hadrian's library and Hadrian's Arch. Also close to Monastriaki square and Syntagma square. Plenty of cafes and restaurants to choose from. The street is full of shops of all kinds. The room is very spacious with a comfortable bed and pillows. Room cleaned everyday and drinking water supplied every day. There is a large seating area with a luxurious sofa which can also be used as a sofa-bed. Large walk-in wardrobe and a pantry with sink. The room also has a work desk with shelves. Would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Athens for the first time.
