A23 Sunny & Cosy suite with balcony near Parthenon Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first saw the name A23 Sunny & Cosy suite with balcony near Parthenon, I thought it sounded a bit generic, you know? But after spending a few nights there, I get why they went with the straightforward approach. Sometimes the best places don’t need fancy names because the location does all the talking.
The suite really is sunny – I mean, ridiculously so. The balcony faces southeast, so you’re getting that gorgeous Athens morning light streaming in from around 7 AM. Perfect if you’re an early riser (less perfect if you forgot to close the curtains and want to sleep in). What struck me most was how quiet it actually gets at night, considering you’re practically in the shadow of the Acropolis. Sure, you’ll hear the occasional motorbike echoing off the narrow streets below, but it’s that ambient city hum that somehow becomes white noise after the first night. The balcony itself isn’t huge – maybe enough room for two people to have coffee and actually enjoy it – but honestly, when you’re looking out toward ancient ruins while drinking your morning Greek coffee, size doesn’t matter much.
The interior surprised me too. I was expecting typical rental apartment furniture, but whoever set this place up actually thought about comfort. The couch is one of those rare finds that’s both good-looking and something you’d want to collapse on after a day of climbing around archaeological sites. The kitchen is small but functional – I made simple breakfasts there without any issues, though I’ll warn you the coffee maker is one of those single-serve pod things, not a proper espresso setup. The shower has excellent water pressure, which after walking around Athens in summer heat, felt like a genuine luxury. One thing though – the air conditioning unit is a bit loud when it kicks on, but again, you sort of tune it out, and honestly you’ll need it running most of the time if you’re visiting between May and September.
What really makes this place work is the neighborhood feel. You’re tucked into this residential pocket where actual Athenians live, not just tourist central. There’s a small market about two blocks down where the owner recognized me by day three – that kind of local vibe that makes you feel less like you’re just passing through. The walk to the Parthenon is genuinely easy, maybe fifteen minutes of mostly uphill strolling through streets that feel authentically lived-in. I found myself taking different routes each time, discovering tiny churches and corner cafés that definitely don’t make it into guidebooks. The area gets busy during peak tourist hours, but early morning or evening, it has this lovely residential calm that reminds you Athens is a real city, not just an outdoor museum. For the price point and that 9.0 rating it’s earned, this suite delivers exactly what it promises – nothing flashy, just solid comfort in one of the world’s most historically rich neighborhoods.

Fantastic apartment in fabulous Athens! Entry to the property was easy with the clear instructions provided by the host. Attractive building entrance and very secure once in the building. Lift access to the apartment floor was a bonus. A lovely apartment with a large balcony. Close to everything, with restaurants, superettes 2 mins away;. All the famous sights of Athens are an easy walk. Hosts Romanos and Adham were kind and helpful. I totally recommend this apartment when staying in this beautiful city of Athens. Will definitely return!

We had a one bedroom apartment on the second floor with a balcony overlooking the front of the property. We thought, that it was incredible value for money – lots of space in the sitting room/kitchenette area and the bedroom, comfortable large bed, modern spacious shower room, lots of light coming in and very clean – in the apartment, the entrance hall, lift and stairwell. The many windows and the sliding door to the balcony were fitted with curtains, insect screens and electric shutters. The location is buzzing with restaurants, cafes, bars, shops and offices. For our first visit to Athens I think it gave us the chance to really see the city's life – the shops opposite opening up in the morning, the many motorbikes moving along its maze of narrow one way streets – and its architecture – some lovely old renovated buildings, others waiting to be renovated all mixed in with more modern buildings. Communication with the management was very good.

Loved the location! Was perfect for us as a family of 3, literally everything was within 10 minute walk away from amazing cool coffee shops, famous pies and gorgeous restaurants! We loved this neighbourhood. The lift was a bonus to get to the room! Felt very secure inside with a lot of locks and shutters, and the instructions were perfect to get in. Great bathroom! It is on a bustling street so a little noisy from the clubs/vehicles but nothing you couldn’t sleep through or didn’t stop before midnight. We used the balcony for morning coffees, lovely!
