The air conditioning actually keeps up with those brutal August afternoons, the shower has proper pressure, and the beds are firm enough that you don’t feel like you’re sinking into quicksand. Small details matter when you’re dealing with jet lag and planning to walk about ten miles a day exploring ancient ruins.

The location is honestly what seals the deal for most people, I think. You’re positioned where you can walk to the major archaeological sites without feeling like you need a sherpa, but you’re also close enough to neighborhoods like Koukaki and Mets where actual Athenians hang out. The metro connections are solid too – I never waited more than a few minutes to get anywhere I needed to go. Breakfast surprised me with actual local touches instead of the usual international hotel spread – proper Greek yogurt with thyme honey, fresh spanakopita that wasn’t soggy, coffee that didn’t taste like it came from a machine that hasn’t been cleaned since the Olympics. The 9.5 rating this place pulls makes total sense once you’ve stayed there.   Really good stay at Absolute Athens. Loved the location walking distance to everything. Super easy access to public transit (including when coming from the aiport). We had everything we needed in the unit and appreciated the simple breakfast items left for us, which helped greatly on the first morning.   The flat is in a central position, nearby all the main attractions. The apartment is full of all the utilities and service that you need for a stay. The guest was always available and offer us water, juice, fruits and stuff for breakfast. We really enjoy our stay!
