Acropolis Aura Overview
You know what really struck me about Acropolis Aura when I first walked in? The way they’ve managed to capture that perfect balance between modern comfort and authentic Greek character without going overboard on either side. I mean, so many hotels in Athens either feel like sterile business chains or they’re trying so hard to be “traditionally Greek” that it feels like a theme park – but this place actually gets it right.
The location is honestly brilliant, though you might not realize it at first glance. You’re tucked away enough that you don’t get the constant buzz of tourist crowds (trust me, this matters when you’re trying to sleep after a long day of sightseeing), but you can still walk to pretty much everything that matters. I found myself taking these lovely evening strolls where I’d stumble across little neighborhood tavernas that weren’t full of people taking selfies – you know, the kind of spots where locals are actually eating dinner. The staff here seems to genuinely know the area too, not just the obvious tourist stops. When I asked about finding good souvlaki, the concierge didn’t just point me toward Monastiraki – he gave me specific recommendations based on what I actually wanted to eat.
What really impressed me was how the 4-star rating doesn’t tell the whole story. The rooms feel more thoughtful than flashy, if that makes sense. The bed was properly comfortable (not too soft, not too firm), and honestly, the shower pressure was excellent – which sounds silly to mention, but after a hot day of climbing around ancient ruins, you really appreciate a good shower. The breakfast spread was solid without being overwhelming, and they actually had decent coffee, which isn’t always a given. I also loved that the common areas never felt crowded or noisy, even when the hotel seemed pretty full. There’s this lovely terrace where you can sit with a drink in the evening, and while you can’t see the Acropolis directly, you get these glimpses of the city that remind you exactly where you are. The whole place just feels like someone who actually cares about hospitality is running it, rather than a corporate management company – and with a 9.6 rating, I’m clearly not the only one who noticed.

Reviews of Acropolis Aura

Probably the best position in Athens. The place was very clean and easy to find and within walking distance of everything you would need. The host was so helpful and attentive and would drop in with anything we needed. The coffee shop/bar next door has a key to the building. if anything goes wrong. Very much recommend this place.
What could be improved: Really need to look at that front door to the building because it was quite scary arriving at 1 am and not able to get the door open. Luckily, our taxi driver stayed with us to make sure we could get in and even called the Help number who talked him through Opening it.Karen from United States – 26 May 2025 (8/10)
The view was tremendous
What could be improved: The amenities weren't great. The apartment was out of toilet paper, laundry soap, paper towels, hand soap in both bathrooms, garbage bags and the bar soap was minuscule and only one was supplied for the week! The master bedroom needs a desk or dresser to put your things. And has only one bedside table. Safes would also be good. There was only shampoo – no conditioner.Stuart from United Kingdom – 10 May 2025 (10/10)
Perfect location with exceptional view of the Acropolis. Easy walking distance to major attractions, shops and restaurants. Beautiful apartment with everything you could possibly need and more. Very comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen and beautiful living area. Great coffee / light meals cafe right beside the apartment.
What could be improved: There was a slight problem with the main door, which we were informed about on arrival. A security alarm went off when opening the front door which we felt could disturb the other occupants of the building.Catriona from United Kingdom – 5 April 2025 (10/10)
We had an amazing stay at the apartment. Excellent location and the view from the balcony had us in awe everytime we walked into the room! The facilities were all excellent and the apartment was clean. We loved the extra touches such as the bottle of wine, bowl of fruit, sweets, tea/coffee, and easter decorations. I would recommend this apartment to anyone going to Athens and would love to stay there again if the opportunity arises. The instructions for checking in and out were very helpful. Thank you for a fab stay, we hope to return one day!
What could be improved: As other reviews have mentioned, the shower drainage could be improved in the ensuite bathroom but this didn't take away from our overall experience and we would definitely visit again. At the time of our visit there was also building work happening next door which was noisy in the morning but nothing that ear plugs couldn't fix (and obviously won't be an issue for every visit).Thomas from United Kingdom – 27 March 2025 (10/10)
The pictures are not lying – if anything they are understating the value. You have front row tickets to Acropolis from the living room and front balcony. The flat is spacious and equipped with all things necessary for a comfortable stay. Very quiet inside, and yet only 5 minutes walk from all the central restaurants and busy areas. Easy check-in and out via a key box.
What could be improved: Only small spot is the drain in the master bedroom shower isn't working very well.Maria from United Kingdom – 17 January 2025 (10/10)
Beautiful flat, and the host was great. He took note of our arrival note which was after midnight and messaged us to check if everything is OK. The place is straight out of a postcard. Would love to come back and stay again here!
What could be improved: All was great , apart from one minor thing the building entrance door was hard to open, the key kept getting stuck.Gaspare from Italy – 3 January 2025 (10/10)
Probably the best apartment in the best location with the best view to enjoy Athens. We got hotel-grade service, and even all decorated for Christmas. Everything is high quality, and nothing is missing even for a longer stay ( we did 11 nights ).

The location is absolutely perfect! Everything is within walking distance – you can easily head to Pnyx, the Hill of the Muses, or the charming streets of Plaka at any time. Despite being so central, the evenings are peaceful and quiet, making it the ideal spot to relax. And the view from the window? Like a postcard – simply breathtaking! We already can’t wait to come back and stay here again. Highly recommended!
What could be improved: Of course, no place is entirely perfect, but this one comes very close! The only minor issue we noticed was with the drainage in the shower – it could use a little improvement.Shannon from Australia – 13 December 2024 (9/10)
Location is HEAVEN for the view. Great communication, beautiful decorating and supplies.
What could be improved: The showers – one leaked all over the floor due to poor drainage the other filled up very easilyEkaterina from Israel – 3 November 2024 (10/10)
It’s absolutely amazing apparent. One of the best in my travel experience: view, interior, comfort, support of host
